For the rescued animals shown on this page, your support of HSSF allowed them to live a life free from the misery they once endured. To each of them, no greater gift could they receive. The donations we receive, no matter what amount, allows us to respond to cruelty complaints, educate the owners, remove animals from unacceptable situations if all else fails, seek professional care to restore them to good health, retrain, and finally, find them new homes.

In 2015, HSSF first participated in the annual BIG Day of Giving. We posted, emailed and tweeted about our work; and at the end of 24 hours, we were exhausted, but $2,800 was raised for abused and neglected animals.

This year, we're participating again. This special event starts at 12AM on May 3rd and ends at midnight. Our goal is to set a new record and raise $5,000.

Here's how you can help:

Donate to HSSF. Then tell your friends you supported us and why.
Follow us on Facebook and share our posts and emails with your friends.
Join us between the hours of 10AM-6PM at 13416 Lincoln Way, Auburn, near the Foresthill I-80 exit (in the Raley's shopping center next to Barebones Workwear). You'll be able to make your donation and enjoy some special surprises that our volunteers will cook up for you.

Thank you for your generosity.

Help Us Protect Animals in 2016

The Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills (HSSF) enforces laws that protect animals from abuse. Due to their life-threatening conditions, animals that are rescued or legally "seized," must be treated by veterinarians, and often require special diets to reach optimal health. Before they can be adopted out, some require professional training or rehabbing as well - all of which is expensive! We are funded solely by donations, grants and sales from our Used Book Store and new Thrift & Gift Store in Auburn (in the Raley's shopping center cited above). As an independent nonprofit organization, we are not affiliated with any other entity, and we do not receive any government funding. All donations are tax-deductible.
