Please send your prayer requests in for our Joys & Concerns email that will go out on Monday morning! The CGCC website has a Contact/Prayer Request page, you can email Jen Lynch directly, or use commonground.secretary@gmail.com. | Bible Studies & Ministries | We will be following the health and safety directives during small group meetings and events as well as Worship. Masks and social distancing are required anytime you are in our building, as we try our best to stay healthy together. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! | Sunday Morning Bible Study 9:30am in the Activity Room ~ Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan We will be finishing the first book soon and starting the second book, Pilgrim's Progress 2: Christiana's Story. "John Bunyan could be said to have authored the most influential book in the English language (other than the King James Bible) but The Pilgrim's Progress is so much more than an historic novel. It was written in two parts. The first (and most famous) part involves Pilgrim leaving his wife and children and risking everything to get to the heavenly city. This second part tells the story of how his wife and children follow him to reach the same destination. Bunyan wants you to travel through this book as an adventure through the Christian life. This sequel has an equal place in the hearts of those that read it. Some regard it as even better - though it isn't so well known." Ladies Bible Study ~ Friday, at 9am in the Activity Room The Armor of God, Bible Study Book This week, we have been working on the lessons in Week Two. When we meet on Friday, we will watch the video for Week Three and get ready to spend the next week working on the daily lessons for Week Three. | Wednesday Morning Prayer Group 10am, participate via Zoom ~ Personal Meeting ID: 6936117456, Password: prayer | LifeGroups Designed to help adults grow as Christ followers: * Taylor LifeGroup: Sundays, 6pm at the Taylor house * Weimer LifeGroup: Every other Tuesday through February, 10am on Zoom, next meeting February 2 | Children's Ministries Sign Up We are working to launch Sunday morning Childcare as well as Collide Kids Wednesdays soon! We want to do this as safely and securely as possible, to protect kids and volunteers. Not only will we continue to follow CDC health guideline requirements within these ministries, (mask wearing, social distancing, cleaning, etc.) but all volunteers must complete a background check (performed by CLC) and a Statement of Faith. More details coming in February! | Children's Ministry Collide Kids Online - Our God is a generous God. He loved us so much that He gave us His very best in sending Jesus to earth to die for our sins. Once you experience His generous love and forgiveness through faith in Jesus, you will want to give generously to others! In today's lesson, we learn Faith produces Generosity. Grab your kid(s) and spend 25 minutes together singing, dancing, laughing, and learning! We would love for you to also have your child(ren) memorize this week's scripture verse and motions and upload a video of them in the comment section under the video on the CLC Facebook page! Have a great week, Collide Kids! | Youth Group We hope to begin to plan a return to meetings as soon as possible. Souper Bowl of Caring ~ February 7, 2021 Our youth voted on five excellent charities that are working diligently to feed people in our community. It was a close race but the organization that received the most votes was The Brightside Project ~ Food for Kids. On "Souper" Bowl Sunday, we will have our soup pots ready to collect monetary donations for this worthwhile group. Give whatever you can to help support the monthly food giveaway that invites children to choose food and personal care items to take home. If you aren't coming to church in-person and you'd still like to donate, please feel free to mail your donation to Common Ground or drop it off here during the week. Souper Bowl of Caring ~ Uniting communities to #TackleHunger using the energy of the Big Game! | Prayer For whom are you praying today? How can we pray for you? We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "This is the day the Lord has made – Let us REJOICE! God is so good to us every day. I pray we always are thankful for every blessing we have. "Holy Spirit, keep us in tune," seems to be my message each week. He is our daily guide. We need to depend on the Holy Spirit for everything." "My word this week is “GENUINE.” We need to be “genuine” in all things. “Genuine” means authentic or the real deal – not fake. Holy Spirit, let us be transparent or “genuine” in our daily lives. In my life, there have been several times I have had to deal with some fake people. Hard lessons learned but this has made me, more than ever, be as “genuine” as I can be. Holy Spirit, check us when we may not be authentic or show “genuine” love, care, or concern to whoever may cross our path. Holy Spirit, check us when our worship to the Father may not be “genuine.” Holy Spirit, check us if we become complacent in our relationship with Jesus. He desires a “genuine” relationship with Him. Let everything that we do or say be “genuine.” Guide our steps, Holy Spirit. I pray in everything to be “genuine.” Have a “genuine” super blessed week! Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.. ~ Romans 12:9-13 (NLT)) | Plastic Grocery Bags Needed If you have a stash of plastic grocery bags you no longer need, we can help you put them to good use! Drop them off here at the front desk and they will be used at the Lord's Blessing Food Pantry to pack up food for community members in need.
