On the presidential yacht, the Sequoia, he cornered captive friends, staff members, and congressmen and talked politics. ‘It isn't that Johnson abuses people,’ a holdover from the Kennedy administration told Teddy [Theodore H.] White. ‘He simply dehydrates them.’”
