4 Bands for 4 Bucks, Throwback 90s Night, 7" Release Parties, Drag Disco, Comedy, + more!

Summer is shifting into high gear at the Fox! The last few weeks have been super busy and fun, and we've got another weekend of fun parties, rad bands, and hilarious comedy in store. We're kicking the weekend off early tonight with another edition of 4x4, our low cost, local music showcase. On Friday, we're hosting the Peach Pit record release, followed by the Summer launch of 90s Night. Saturday marks the return of Graham Clarks' hilarious Quiz Show, follow by our infamous Drag Disco party Divine. We hope to catch you around the venue this weekend, let's do this!

One of favourite local bands is throwing a banger to celebrate the release of their new 7" single. With lyrics rooted in high school heartbreak and self deprecation, Peach Pit spin stories of backstabbing best friends and drug addicted tour guides. Having the dance moves of an epileptic headbanger and the body of a 14 year old girl, frontman Neil Smith, brings a unique energy to their live shows while the rest of the band does their best to keep it weird.

The Fox Cabaret invites you to a 70s and 80s era Studio 54 style vintage drag + disco. The head mistress of throwbacks (and throwing a few back), Shanda Leer will host alongside her longtime buddies, Jef Leppard and Trevor Risk, plus majestic drag hostesses Cinnamon Winters and Poison Apple, Kebby, and Amy Grindhouse. Come dance to disco and extended dance hits the way both the sleazy and the bourgeois used to several decades ago at the Fox Cabaret. Get your furs and your skin tight pants ready because this is a truly transformative party.

The award winning troupe—consisting of Taz VanRassel, Ryan Beil, Emmett Hall, Aaron Read, and Caitlin Howden—has been a staple of Vancouver’s thriving comedy scene for nearly a decade. Since its inception, the group has received national acclaim at the Canadian Comedy awards, and even had November 18, 2011 proclaimed Sunday Service Day by Mayor Gregor Robertson.
