| Next Commercial Club meeting: Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 6:00 pm Upstairs, 299 East Commercial, at Robberson | Exciting news at Robberson & Pacific where D Cloud & Co is transforming into Resquip. Shane Cloud will take the helm from Shannon Cloud, both of them following in Dan Cloud's footsteps. Interior walls will come out and after a major remodel, a long tradition of new and used restaurant equipment will become new and used residential kitchen appliances. We are so pleased to see a long time C-Street family carry on generation after generation. It's what has made North Springfield so strong. Thank you Cloud family! | The first 10 C-Street Merchants that reply to this E-Blast will get this handy dandy box cutter to be used in the 4 Cardboard Recycling Containers that our C-Street CID will be placing in the district. The 4 locations proposed are 1) at the head of Campbell, 2) behind Drury on C-Street, 3) On Blaine just east of D-Cloud & Co, now Resquip. The Cardboard Recycling Container formerly paid for by our neighbors at Pizza House will be replaced with a bright blue container with the CID logo as shown above. The 4th location will be at the head of Benton, by the Eurasia container. These will be for all merchants and residents of our sweet street, courtesy of our C-Street CID! You will have to break those boxes down though. | CID Board Seat Vacancy The CID tax fund generated by retail sales on Commercial Street is used to fund projects such as landscaping, bike racks, trash cans, banners, district cleanup and supporting C-Street events and additional advertising efforts in social media, print and electronic media and more for our historic district. The CID board of directors meets once a month at a public meeting to discuss how these funds are spend and currently there is a vacant seat on this board. The eligibility requirement on this seat is that you own a business in the CID district, but not also own property in the district. For more information, join us at the next CID meeting. The CID meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10 am at Drury on C-Street. If you are interested in the seat, you can also download the application/nomination form here and bring it with you to the meeting. | Saturdays: 9am-2pm Thursdays: 4-8pm 321 E. Commercial Club has been representing the Commercial Street community and supporting community efforts for over a century and continues to be the heart and driving force of our sweet street! While many of our accomplishments come from volunteer efforts and resources, many community projects require funding. The annual budget of the Commercial Club is generated by a combination of membership dues and donations and is used to fund our C-Street City Market, district advertising, assisting with community projects and supporting special events. Come to the monthly meetings to hear about news and happenings in the community and to voice your opinion and share your thoughts on current and future projects for the betterment of the district. And it's just fun to meet your neighbors too! Help support the continued growth and bright future of C-Street! To join, go to www.historiccstreet.com. | Commercial Club will also be offering a laminated copy of the map at its full size, 12" x 24" to the first 50 merchants, friends and residents who pay their 2018 dues online. Dues are not prorated, however, any dues we received in the last quarter of 2017 will be considered to have paid their 2018 dues. We will be listing all members who join online on our website and will do our best to include those who pay by mail or hand-delivering checks at meetings. As an all volunteer organization, we do the best we can to keep up with memberships but without a digital reference, it is increasingly difficult. So, join online now and we'll get you a beautiful, laminated map as soon as they are ready for print. | Commercial Club Board Members Mary Collette, President Property and Business Owner Andy Walls, Vice President Resident, Property and Business Owner Anne Walls, Treasurer Resident, Property and Business Owner John Dilliard Resident Teresa Emerson Property Owner Joe Gidman Property and Business Owner Christine Schilling Resident, Property and Business Owner | If you have any news-worthy items that you would like add to this newsletter, please reply to this email.
