We were chatting with ACC's Robert Senko asking for his 2020 insights and this is what he shared:
"My prediction is the ITIN market is going to explode in 2020. New products and demand for these borrowers is building. Checkout my webinar March 5th."
We agree the opportunity to help foreign nationals in 2020 is huge. There's still a lot of confusion and misunderstanding about ITIN/DACA lending. That's why we asked Robert and ACC to host this webinar coming up in March.
Last week LoanScorecard has announced that A&D Mortgage has implemented its product and pricing engine, Pricer1, and non-agency AUS, Portfolio Underwriter, as its Non-QM Pricing & Scenario Tool.
“As the non-QM market continues to grow and more brokers begin to explore these options, they need the right tools and technology at their disposal to be comfortable with these products and educate their borrowers,” said Max Slyusarchuk, chief executive officer of A&D Mortgage. “LoanScorecard’s technology provides a uniform approach to underwriting conditions and loan qualifications that creates clarity and efficiency throughout the entire loan process from start to finish, ultimately allowing brokers to close more loans quickly and confidently.”

In 2019, LoanScorecard rolled out lots of technology solutions to the non-QM space including tools like the Bank Statement Analyzer. We also saw more non-QM tech come to market with tools like Angel Oak Mortgage Solutuons' QuickQual, powered by LoanScorecard and Deephaven Mortgage’s enhanced functionality on their scenario calculator, providing originators one-click access to their AUS engine, IDENTI-FI AUS also powered by LoanScorecard.
This week were talking with Carl Markman, Director of National Sales for REMN Wholesale about pricing in the non-QM space and this is what he had to say:
"Non-Qm is becoming more commoditized like every other loan where price is now a significant factor in choosing where to send loans. It’s also becoming more mainstream where exceptions are the norm. Price should not be the primary factor like any other product, it’s a combination of service, price, guidelines, and relationships."

When trolling Angel Oak's Facebook page, we saw that they have three AEs that hit $500 Million in non-QM production.
"We couldn’t be prouder to congratulate Steve Arnold, Bob Hutchens, and Eric Morgenson for reaching a phenomenal milestone of $500 million in non-QM volume during their careers at Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions. They earned this through hard work, long nights and an unwavering dedication to providing the highest level of customer support in the industry."
Way to go Steve, Bob and Eric. You guys are trailblazers in the non-QM space. I'm sure that club will expand as Angel Oak looks to double their non-QM originations to over $6B in 2020.
As Angel Oak's originations grow, so does their Assets Under Management for their related company, Angel Oak Capital Advisors. This week Angel Oak Capital Advisors promoted Sam Dunlap and Namit Sinha to chief investment officers of the firm’s public and private strategies, respectively. More about those hires here.
