When was the last time you and your partner got away for a night, a weekend or maybe longer? For Valentines Day, look at the calendar with your other half and think about when and how you can make an escape happen.
Rich and I have made a habit and spending a night away, somewhere within 2 hours of home, whenever Teen Traveler has a scout camping weekend.
If your kids don't spend time away via camps or scouts or school programs, think about who might be willing to take them in or come over and watch them for a night or two. Yes, you'll owe someone a big favor. But the opportunity to linger over dinner, sleep in and reconnect without the kids underfoot is well worth it.
