With the help of 4 Christian universities (Cairn, Summit, Eastern and Liberty) 282 campers (many coming from partnering Christian ministries) were encouraged to "Get Wisdom" as we studied the life and writings of Solomon. After competing as universities, 4 excelling campers were awarded with the coveted title of "Lady Wisdom" or "Brother Knowledge."
Streamside's leadership programs continue to grow as 16 teens participated in the Service & Leadership Training program along with 6 Counselors in Training. This fall we will be joined by 2 College@Camp students and 2 City Vision interns. We are inspired by the youthful enthusiasm and assistance they add to our camp community.
August has kicked off a busy retreat season of strengthening churches beginning with large groups from Church of the Savior Adventure Camp and Brooklyn Tabernacle's Royal Family Kids Camp. Combined with new and returning retreat groups throughout September, October and November, Streamside is anticipating finishing the year in an improved financial position.
One of this year's capital projects is to replace old and weathered decking at the pool and some of our cabin porches. Thanks to the provision of a heat treated product at cost from one of our campership donors, The Bingaman Lumber Company, we will have a great looking and durable finished product.
