CG NEWS & EVENTS

Fall Bible School Wrap Up & Fall Fest Saturday!

All ages invited to join in our FBS Wrap Up in the Orchard this Saturday from 3-5pm, Fall Fest included. We will look back over our FBS experience, play some games, sing songs, and then have time for a costume parade and trick-or-treating. Invite your friends and family, grab your costumes and treats to hand out and come enjoy this festive time of year! Our hoped for dinner with hot dogs and s'mores around the fire pit after 5:00 may or may not come to pass, due to the predicted rain and cold. We will decide tomorrow and keep you posted.

This past Sunday, our third day, was a celebration of welcome and hospitality freely given. We were reminded of 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God." Everyone enjoyed apple treats, games, music, and time together. A big thank you goes to everyone who helped us have a successful Fall Bible School. Whether you donated, volunteered, participated, or prayed - you are appreciated!

OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Coat & Clothing Drive

Ongoing Outreach/Mission Opportunity

The Giveaway was a tremendous success! We had so many wonderful folks come through our doors. It was certainly a day full of one God Sighting after another! There truly is a significant need in our community for events like this. Keep saving all your clothing and outerwear items because we will definitely do this again next fall. Tell your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers that we will accept donations all year! Requested items that we did not have included baby and toddler clothing. Our table of random items like a cheese grater, pans, doll clothes, and purses was a surprising hit. People also appreciated the cookies, drinks, and crafts. Thank you to all who helped make this such a special day!

Second Harvest Food Bank

Can't make it to FBS but would still like to help with our mission project? Monetary donations and canned/boxed food items will be accepted through October 21st to help Second Harvest feed hungry local families.
Why are we collecting for the Food Bank this year? Because hunger is a serious problem in our country and our community. In the Mahoning Valley more than 86,000 people struggle with hunger and may not know where they’ll find their next meal. That number includes one in four kids who may not have enough to eat. Our donations will make it into the hands of kids and families right here to help them have a little less to worry about!

~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
What can YOU do?
