What is happening with Student Loans?

As you should be aware, we are under a Student Loan payment moratorium which relieves people from making monthly payments on federal student loans (owned by the U.S. Department of Education) without accruing any interest, late fees or penalties.

This moratorium is set to expire on December 31, 2020 and until now there is no plan for extension. This means, that starting January 1st, 2021, interests will start to accrue again and collection of payments will resume.

Prepare to have your own plan for your Student Loan debt. If you have difficulties doing it yourself, contact a financial counselor to help you navigate programs that you may qualify for and beat the crowd for enrollment.

Employee of the Month

We want to congratulate Joseline Lopez, our Senior Member Service representative and new employee of the month! Joseline was selected this month because of her dedication, efficiency and professionalism at opening new accounts.

This month, we are seeing a slight recovery in new accounts after being hit very hard due to Covid19 related effects and restrictions.

While we thank our entire staff for their commitment to our membership on this path to recovery, this month in particular, we would like to thank Joseline Lopez for excelling at it!
