Hi High Plains Emmaus Community
I pray that this letter finds each of you well.
I want to thank Farwell Baptist Church, Farwell TX for allowing us to have our August Community Gathering there. We had approximately 60 people to attend. We were blessed to have Billie Dixon give us a seriously funny 4th day. They were perfect words for me, and I hope for everyone in attendance. She is such a blessing to me and our community. Thank you, Billie, for sharing with us. I want to thank those of you that didn’t join us but were praying for us, our Emmaus community, our communities, our state, our nation and our world. And I ask for you to continue those prayers.
The 2021 walks are WW#54 lay director Jill Denton with Larry Mitchell as the spiritual director. MW#39 lay director Terry Leatherwood with Wayne Kinman as the spiritual director. And WW#55 lay director Kathi Shaw with Suzanne Brockmeier as the spiritual director. At this time, we have 1 pilgrim. I ask that the community continue to pray for these lay and spiritual directors along with ALL the pilgrims that will be on these walks.
If you would like to give to the High Plains Emmaus Community without being at a gathering, we have a PayPal link on our website, highplainsemmaus.com. We have not kept up with all of the information such as where our gatherings will be due to how the churches are following the health orders. I am trying to get the information out there as soon as possible, yet like this month I lost the newsletter I had written as I was trying to save it, but the computer ate it and I could not get it back. So, I slept on it and here I am trying again.
We will be having our September gathering at Central Baptist Church, Clovis, NM. The board meeting will be at 6:00 pm, with our worship at 7:00 pm, both of these times are MDT. We will not be having a sponsor’s hour, or a potluck fellowship (boy do I miss those). I look forward to seeing you on September 1, 2020.
