Q: Why OutdoorFest?
A: Being in New York, I wanted to have a community of outdoor enthusiasts and I wasn’t able to find it. There were people here with the same interest, so it was about bringing them together. However, my time is also valuable so it’s an effort to prioritize .
Q: What’s the most interesting thing that’s come out of OutdoorFest?
A: Mappy Hour!
Q: How did you hear about House of Genius?
A: I spoke at New York Travel Festival [editor’s note: another House of Genius presenter!] and met Samantha, who told me about House of Genius. I attended on a panel and it was really fun. I decided to take the opportunity to present Outdoorfest after that.
Q: What was the best idea you got from presenting at House of Genius?
A: One question I was asked was, "Is starting and running a festival exciting or does it make you want to pull your hair out?" -- that made me think about having new activities. We’re looking at having a Winter festival eventually. We’re also working on figuring out how to expand to other cities. DC is happening soon with a Mappy Hour, and if people want to get involved it’s totally possible.
