Ligonier Connect 2023 Sign-Ups

Ligonier Ministries offers hundreds of Bible Courses led by their many trusted Theologians, Pastors, and Teachers. In 2022, we provided a year subscription of Ligonier Connect to 31 church members and 11 guests who actively participated in this wonderful discipleship resource. Our yearly membership expires January 12th.

Due to rising costs of other line items, we did not budget for this resource for 2023. In 2022 we enjoyed our initial Group Community Plan at 50% off ($812.50 for 50 subscriptions). This year, the cost will be significantly higher ($1,625.00 for 50 subscriptions). We are asking those who would like to use Ligonier Connect in 2023 to sign-up whether you are a returning participant or new participant. Our goal is to provide 25 subscription spots to our members. The total cost is $1,000.00 for 25 subscriptions at $40/subscription.

If you would like to help cover the cost of Ligonier Connect for 2023, please make your check out to Connecting Life Church and put "Ligonier Connect" in the memo. Blessings!

Collide Sunday ~ During Worship
* Nursery Care (Newborn-3 in Nursery)
* Collide Kids Jr. (Ages 3-6 in Sprouts Room)

Collide Kids Church Announcement from Pastor Mike:
Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." One of the most important ways parents can train their children in the Lord is through their guidance and example during corporate worship. Therefore, through much prayer
and wise counsel, I would like to offer the months of January and February as a time for our children to be with us in worship and for us as parents and church family to use this time to help teach, train, and guide the children of our church on how to sing, listen, and learn in the full assembly of the saints. We will look forward to Collide Kids Church Sundays to resume in
March and Collide Wednesdays to resume in February! The Nursery and Sprouts Room for
infants and toddlers will still be available. Blessings! ~ Pastor Mike

Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for
writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"Happy New Year to you all. I pray you made it through the holidays safe, happy, and blessed. It was so nice to relax somewhat. I was able to get some much-needed stuff done around the house which always feels good! The new year always seems to recall things that we need to focus on more in the coming year - New Year's Resolutions - but I want us to think about it as our “RESOLVE” - which flows right into our WORD for the week."

"As I thought back to what things I could do differently last year, I thought about “resolve” and what it really means. Def: find a solution, decide firmly on course of action, and make up one’s mind - which hit me. We need to make up our mind and stick with it or “resolve” to put Jesus first in everything this new year. Put Him first over everything. Speaking to myself here but I need to not let my so-called busyness take time away from my relationship with Jesus. I will “resolve” to do so much better. I will “resolve” to stay connected with the Holy Spirit in all things. Start there and everything else will fall into place. That was always what my dad told me. Get your center right (Jesus) and all else will be right. Let’s “resolve” to get our center right. Let’s start out each day to “resolve” to do better. Start out with minds made up and stick with it! I will pray for you, and you pray for me to stay with our “resolve” all year long. And if by chance we slip up – well that’s ok too! That is what grace is all about – but we will save that word for another day."

"God made a promise to Abraham. And as there is no one greater than God, he used himself when he swore to Abraham, saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” Abraham waited patiently for this to happen, and he received what God promised. People always use the name of someone greater than themselves when they swear. The oath proves that what they say is true, and this ends all arguing. God wanted to prove that his promise was true to those who would get what he promised. And he wanted them to understand clearly that his purposes never change, so he made an oath. These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he makes a promise, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They give us strength to hold on to the hope we have been given." ~ Hebrews 6:13-18 (NCV)

The GG crew enjoyed winter break but all were happy to get back to work on Tuesday. We returned to routine with moving chairs, carrying in lots of Giveaway donations, taking care of critters, and cleaning. Wednesday brought volunteers in to help undecorate the building - thanks all! Today we are enjoying the nice weather and have been taking down outdoor decorations, taking a walk, and checking out the property. After all the rain, the sunshine sure is a nice treat!

Christmas Clean Up

Thanks to all the helping hands, undecorating went quickly.
We think we had some of the cutest helpers around!!
