On May 18th, transgender "Bathroom Bill" C-16 passed the Senate committee stage following two weeks of hearings without any amendments or observations.

Bill C-16 will now face third and final vote in the Senate before it could potentially receive royal assent to become part of Canadian law.

This legislation would add the terms ‘gender identity’ and ‘gender expression’ to the Canadian Human Rights Act and Criminal Code and make it illegal to discriminate on the basis of these two categories, essentially allowing biological males the legal right to access girls' washrooms/change rooms and forcing the use of a wide range of made-up pronouns such as "ze", "zhe," and "zir" for transgender individuals.

Professor Jordan Peterson's Committee Presentation:

University of Toronto Professor Jordan Peterson has been a true hero to the challenge against Bill C-16 since releasing his infamous Youtube videos on refusing to use preferred pronouns. Peterson was invited to present before the Senate committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs last week, where he emphatically explained the dangers of Bill C-16.

Unfortunately, the committee failed to heed Prof. Peterson's warnings or to implement any of the proposed amendments and so we are asking you to join us once again in taking action against this bill.

NEXT STEPS // WHAT YOU CAN DO:

1) Pray:

The most important thing to be doing at this time is praying.

Please pray that Senators would have true wisdom and discernment from God when preparing to vote on this bill. Pray that the minds of those who support the bill would be changed, and that those who already see the inherent dangers would have influence amongst colleagues and be able to persuade others to vote against it. Please pray that this bill would be voted down in the Senate and that it would ultimately be completely abandoned or, at minimum, amended to better protect the safety and freedoms of Canadians.

Please pray for the following people by name:

Let's also pray for individuals struggling with gender confusion in Canada; that they would have life-changing encounters with the Lord and come to a deep appreciation for their God-given gender and identities. Please pray against the spirit of depression and suicide. Let's also pray that the Church would reach out to those who need to know love and that we would demonstrate the love of Christ like they've never encountered before.

Our friends at Campaign Life Coalition are calling for three days of prayer and fasting, May 23rd-26th, as the Senate considers this bill. Please consider joining this fast.

It is not too late to contact Senators to voice your concerns about this legislation and ask them to vote against bill C-16.
