Thank you for subscribing to the Oak Park Arts District's For Kids e-newsletter. Can you believe Spring Break is over and summer is right around the corner (it is... even though snow continues to fall from the sky)?! Here are some of the super fun things happening in the District in the months to come...

Bead in Hand: Little birds can have an eggcellent adventure building a bird'€™s nest or pea-pod pendant to give this Mother'€™s Day (May 8th!). These pendants are a delightful weaving of wire around beads that evoke images of a cozy nest or pea-pod. The drop-in workshop runs every day April 25 through May 7, 1-5 pm. The cost is $5 per item which includes wire and instruction. Beads and chain to hang the pendant from are extra. All ages are welcome, although younger kids may need some help. 145 Harrison

What's Blooming on Harrison:The Oak Park Arts District's annual street festival, is Saturday, May 21st from 11 am-7 pm. The family-oriented event will shut down Harrison Street from Highland to Humphrey to traffic and fill it with a children's carnival, face painters, henna artists, musicians, dancers, food trucks and vendors, a Beer Garden (so not for kids!) and an awesome art fair. Take your kids to Makers Booths for high-quality craft time. It is going to be a blast! More details will come out next month so stay tuned.
