Welcome to our October 2022 newsletter. We highlight the Armed Reaction team's and our Central Station team's activity for the month of October 2022 to reflect the outstanding work they performed.

Herewith is our Armed Reaction Teams and Central Station activities for October 2022 FEEDBACK:

It is important to remember that over and above our core functions the teams provide, if it is Armed Reaction to Alarm or Panic signals or Investigating Suspicious Activities, they also perform several community based services.
Bassett Burglar Alarms has always been BIG on community support and making our neighborhoods safer.

To illustrate the effort displayed in this regard, following is an account for October 2022.

Our teams participated in 28 Community led events including SAPS Crime Prevention Operations, SAPS Crime Meetings and NHW Meetings with Crime Prevention Operations.

7 Suspects were arrested, detained and handed over to our SAPS members for crimes relating to:

House Break-In
Theft of Motor Vehicle
Assault
Shoplifting

Crime trends indicated House Break-in's during the night and early morning hours, Theft of Vehicles, Theft out of residential properties, Trespassing and Copper Theft.

5 123 Emergency and Non-Emergency signals were received by our Central Station Operators.
Armed Reaction teams were dispatched to a 2 544 to investigate and assist.

Armed Reaction officers assisted at 6 Medical calls and attended to 2 Vehicle Accidents. Either assisting the injured and/or with traffic regulation.

A total of 43 605 Kilometers were driven by our Armed Reaction teams working shifts for the months of October 2022 at a cost of R 94 516.00 for fuel.

The letters boost their morale and makes them feel appreciated when coming to work, most times when it is still dark and cold leaving their families behind to keep us all safe.

District Bassett has launched it’s own CPU (Crime Prevention Unit). The purpose of the CPU allows us to work closer together with Neighborhood Watches, SAPS Sector Commanders and the community to combat and prevent crime. By working closely with these groups, we are able to analyze crime patterns in our areas and focus on what matters most, safe living for all. The dedicated CPU will also serve as assistance and back up to our existing fleet of Armed Reaction Vehicles on the road and security partners in area.

During the past two years we have send out numerous articles relating to Telkom's Fixed Lines.
An ageing infrastructure combined with newer technology made sense to eventually change over.
It appears this change is coming sooner than later.
