On October 20, we announced our 2010 Congregation Budget goal of $827,281.00, a small increase of only $1,481 over our 2019 budget. To date, we have received 221 pledges, totaling $689,032.00 This amount represents 92% of the $750,751.00 of pledged giving needed for 2020. Our pledged giving of $750,751.00 is a key part of our total budget of $827,281.00. This year’s stewardship campaign will continue each week until our congregation budget goal is reached. We thank you for your participation in this important expression of support and gratitude. Together, we can keep our ministry moving forward with confidence and hope. If you have not turned in your pledge card for 2020, please do so. Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries is gearing up for korv 2019 and we are ready to accept sales and volunteers. RALM is celebrating making the Tabor traditional Swedish korv. Telling our Swedish heritage through 1200 pounds of sausage is a newer adventure relating with our community. “Where the learning is just as important as the service.” If you will be entering high school in the fall of 2020 or are already in high school then this is for you! We will be traveling to Toledo, Ohio July 12-17th, 2020. There will be service projects and a day of sightseeing. We need to get a commitment by January 1, if you are interested. The cost is $350, with a deposit of $50. Due January 1, 2020.

Everyone probably knows something about Leonardo da Vinci. This year museums and fashion houses, scientists and inventors around the world had been celebrating the life of Leonardo da Vinci; it has been 500 years since his death on May 12, 1519. He is known as the inventor of shoes to walk on water and submarines. His dissections of the human body proceed with the advances in science and many medical fields by centuries. Join art historian, Laura C. Johnson for a deeper look into this quintessential Renaissance man, as she shows how his designs are used by fashion designers in Paris; how he influenced the way we roast poultry to this day. Other favorite subjects such as napkins, the tongue of a woodpecker, and the extraordinary story of a painting contest between da Vinci and Michelangelo. She will also reveal why actor Leonardo di Caprio was named Leonardo! The tags include several gift wishes for each child, the child's first name, age, and gender. The gifts are to be wrapped and brought back to the Red Truck in Fellowship Hall by November 30. We hope to have a shopper for each child. It is also possible to make a donation and have the shopping done for you. Thanks in advance for your great generosity. Outreach Committee. | Dear Friend, I'm calling on our elders and drawing closer and closer. I love sharing in the lives of our St. Mark loved ones, and I love being sensitive to their needs. And, I would love for you to love our elders. We have wonderful people called Barnabas Ministers. We meet on the third Thursday of each month from 2:00-3:00. We catch up on caring, and I share my caring experiences. We have one mission: to encourage by listening. Why is this so important? Many elders have no one to listen to them - and then they feel that their stories - and their lives - are worth nothing. It's so logical: If my life were worth something, people would be here to listen. So, we are! We listen deeply and care deeply for these dear people. Would you drop in at our next meeting? It will be on Thursday, November 21, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the conference room. Come to encourage. Come to be encouraged.
