We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray your week has been so blessed and full of God’s love. The weather has been a little interesting these past few days. Saturday, we had some hail and just so happened to be the day I decided to plant my flower seeds. I would have planted the veggies too, but it was a little crazy out. I will get them done this week. Getting my hands in the dirt and planting is so relaxing! I love it. Didn’t get that from my mom though – got it from dad. Brought back great memories of my dad in the garden. Thank you, God, for all the wonderful memories." "Brings me right into my WORD for the week, “CULTIVATE.” Some definitions are to prepare, develop, nurture, and help grow. While I was digging in the soil, I was preparing it so the seeds that I would plant would have happy dirt to grow in. I was pulling out all the old sticks and twigs and was making sure the dirt was smooth and ready to receive the seeds. What do we have in our lives that we may need to “cultivate?” Maybe pull out some old junk that we have hanging around in our heart? Is our heart ready to receive all that the Holy Spirit has for us? At Christmas we sing “let every heart, prepare Him room” – have we done that? I pray, “cultivate” our hearts, Holy Spirit – let us be ready to receive all you have for us. I am so excited to see my flowers when they pop through the dirt – if I have done my job to “cultivate” them properly. Let us be that excited to see what the Holy Spirit has in store for us – if we have done everything we can to “cultivate” our hearts to full bloom! Let’s dig our feet in – press in – stir it up – be ready to receive all He has for us! Have a super blessed week of digging in!" My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. ~ Ephesians 3:14-21 (MSG) ~~~ | Pastor Mike on Vacation Thru May 2 If you have a physical need, please contact your Deacon/Deaconess. We enjoyed being outside together, filling up buckets with drainage materials and soil and then planting potatoes. Monday brought rain and a freezing drizzle but we didn't let that stop us! Our crew did some cleaning and watering, worked on tools in the warehouse, and went shopping at Gardening Indoors and White House. Everyone enjoyed a White House donut for a special treat when we returned. Besides donuts, we picked up cherries and lemons in order to make more of our new fan-favorite Juicy Jam flavor - Cherry Lemonade! Pick up a jar while available and enjoy this bright taste of summer! The chilly temps continued into Tuesday, giving us the opportunity for some fabulous frost pictures. (Thanks, Rachel!) Our crew stayed warm by cleaning the greenhouse, setting up our NFT system for hydroponically grown lettuce, weeding out back, and more. Yesterday we put together a new mushroom bed and worked on trimming the tall grasses.
