We officially have less than one week left to get ready to make an impact on what may be one of Canada's most important elections in years: the election of the next leader of the Conservative Party.

When it comes time for the next federal elections in 2019, our goal is to see a candidate for Prime Minister who will stand for free speech and the religious freedom of all Canadians, who will allow MPs to vote according to their conscience, table legislation and have debate on the issues they wish to see addressed (like abortion), and who will support socially-conservative values in Canada.
For those of you who are still on the fence about buying a membership or perhaps those who are only just beginning to learn about this incredible opportunity, we've outlined everything you need to know about voting in the CPC leadership election below.

The CPC Leadership Race Basics:
This race is extremely important:
The election of a federal party leader typically only happens every 10-12 years. A socially-conservative leader would mean significant advances in the fight for freedom of speech, abortion legislation, conscience protection of medical professionals, Canada's support of Israel, and so many more of the social justice issues we want to see changed.
Why every one of us should vote:
MY Canada is a non-partisan organization and our members vote in many different ways. But no matter how you typically vote in federal elections, the opportunity to have a say on the leader of the CPC is huge. Even if you don't vote Conservative in 2019, the leader of this party will significantly impact this nation for the next decade and beyond.
How to ensure you have a say:
It’s simple; In order to be eligible to vote in the leadership election you must be at least 14 years old and a member of the Conservative Party of Canada. It only costs $15 and takes just a few minutes to sign up.
How to vote:
Members who register before March 28th will receive a ballot and postage-paid return envelope in the mail. You will fill this ballot out, marking down your top 1, 2, 3,...up to 10 candidates, and mail it back no later than May 26th - along with a photocopy of your government-issued photo ID. Or you can vote in-person at a polling station. The winner will be announced on May 27th.
Ranked Ballot:
There are some excellent, highly supportable candidates from a social-conservative standpoint. On the other hand, there are also candidates who are strongly pro-choice, pro-euthanasia, etc. But there are a number of candidates who fall somewhere between these two poles. By ranking your ballot, you will help to ensure that those who are somewhat socially-conservative will have greater odds of winning than those who are not at all socially-conservative.
If you don't know who to vote for:
Do not worry if you are still unsure who to vote for. There are still a few months and a number of debates and interviews during which you can get to know the candidates. The main thing at this point in time is to ensure that you (and your family, friends, church members) sign up to become members by the March 28th deadline.
