news venus aqua

Today, Venus moved into Aquarius (as of about 2 hours ago), lasting until February 25th. Aquarius is an unconventional sign, and Venus is the plant of love and relationships, so we can embrace love in different ways now.

We may bring people into our lives who are different from usual, expanding our social circles (since Aquarius rules friends and groups). In romance, this can mean wanting to strengthen the foundation of friendship in existing relationships, and start off as friends in new ones.

We can be more open to taking things casually in relationships since Aquarius likes some independence. But Aquarius is also a fixed sign, so if we decide on commitment, we can be comfortable with that too.

This tour for Venus in Aquarius is a little funky though, especially early on since Venus is square (hard aspect, 3 signs away) Uranus in Taurus and conjunct (aligned with) Saturn (Feb 5th for Saturn, Feb 6th for Uranus). So relationships may be under some stress very soon, especially any where change has been needed but not pursued. Those of you with planets/bodies at 5-6 degrees of a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) can feel this most.

Then we have Mercury currently retrograde (moving backward) in the same sign of Aquarius, and Mercury joins up with Venus on February 13th. Mercury also joins with Jupter on February 14th, and Venus joins with Jupiter on February 11th, so we've got a tight little Aquarius stellium with Mercury retrograde, Venus, and Jupiter midmonth (plus the Aquarius new moon on the 11th, but that's not conjunct this trio).

Stelliums occur with 3+ planets together in one sign, and are high energy but concentrated on that sign. Mercury retrograde in the mix may throw some things off, but the hope would be we can use that in a good way. Second chances, do overs, getting things right this time - these are what we can do. Jupiter and Venus are the benefics (beneficial planets) so hopefully we can do it!

The stellium occurs at 12-14 degrees Aquarius, so it can focus on the areas of life ruled by the house it occurs in your natal chart, and aspects are about 11-15 degrees Aquarius (conjunct - amplifies), Leo (opposition - external challenges), Aries and Sagittarius (sextile - beneficial), Gemini and Libra (trine - beneficial), and Taurus and Scorpio (square - internal challenges).
