From the Archives Desk

Dr. Stan York, Director of the Cornerstone Conference Archives

Our current climate provides a great opportunity for rummaging through your ministerial archives. In March, my wife and I washed the walls and windows inside our house. We gave it a complete cleansing.

This time affords you the same ability. The Archives Department desires to receive possibly your three best sermons, important photographs of yourself and important gatherings, any published papers, and donation of any Advocate Press books. Our department is charged with building and preserving the history of the Western North Carolina/Cornerstone Conference. This charge is only possibly with your cooperation.

Please look over your collections to see if there are any items or resources you may wish to donate. We will record, file, and preserve these precious items. You are welcome to contact me if you have any questions.

Our Committee also desires to learn of any church celebrations of 25, 50, 75, 100 or more years of service to Jesus Christ this year 2020. We desire to visit you and join in your celebration. As we unite in joy over God’s faithfulness through the years, we unite as a Body of Christ to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our Conference.

If you desire to contact me, my cell phone is 704-577-9701 or my email address is syork006@gmail.com.

Blessings!
Dr. Stan

And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly, to love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? – Micah 6:8

IPHC Resources Regarding Racial Injustice

As members of the National Association of Evangelicals, the IPHC affirms the following NAE statement regarding racial injustice, viewable at https://www.nae.net/nae-addresses-racial-turmoil-calls-for-action.

Recent events surrounding the wrongful deaths of Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia, Breonna Taylor in Kentucky, and George Floyd in Minnesota illustrate severe racial injustices in the United States. The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) laments the recurring trauma experienced by African Americans. We condemn racism and the violent abuse of power, call for justice for victims and their families, and exhort churches to combat attitudes and systems that perpetuate racism. We are grateful for law enforcement officers who honorably serve and protect our communities, and urge our members to uphold them in prayer.

We are excited about that opportunity and the privilege we get in partnering together. Rejoice in the Lord always…

Pam Rooker, Girls' Ministries Director

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philliipans 4:4-7

In Philippians 4:4-7 we are told to rejoice, not just once but twice we are told to rejoice. So that tells me how important this point is! Our world has changed so much over the past few months BUT one thing I know is that our God is still on the throne and He still rules over everything!

His word tells us not to be anxious about anything. Sometimes we have to be reminded to just stop stressing, worrying, over thinking, being anxious AND just rejoice. I encourage you today to REJOICE in the LORD! Take some time and share the love of Jesus!

Some easy ways to share love today are:

▪ Speak an encouraging word
▪ Pray for someone -send a quick text – I’m praying for you today
▪ Smile – this is evident even if you are wearing a mask
▪ Pay for a meal or towards a meal at a drive thru
Speak an encouraging word

THE WORLD IS RIPE UNTO HARVEST...LET'S DO OUR PART!
