Installation of ‘UANGEL‘, bronze-mesh sculpture |
Hi everyone, as summer finally fades I'd like to share autumn news of exhibitions and new sculpture.
Recently installed and perfectly timed for the USA's recent political upheavals NYC now has a new ‘guardian angel‘! |
Morning sunshine - ‘UANGEL‘ |
Installed in September on a Manhattan roof-top in Soho New York, ‘UANGEL‘ (193 x 230 x 20 cm) majestically embodies a delicate fusion of masculine and feminine combined.
In an emerging political age of ‘populism‘ and ‘post-truth‘ uncertainty, ‘UANGEL‘ symbolises alternative important creative cultural and non-religious spiritual values as well as providing an enigmatic presence at non-political (open-air roof-top) parties! |
My latest commissioned large-scale sculpture is due to be installed in the newly designed reception area at ‘Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa‘, Dubai, UAE, before the year's end.
‘AIRWAVE‘ 2016 was commissioned by LW Design Group and designed in conjunction with Rachel Kidd at LW. Special thanks to United Wire Limited, Edinburgh, for providing custom-made stainless steel mesh for this project.* |

|
Fabricated in white painted stainless steelmesh – etherial, translucent, precariously poised – ‘AIRWAVE‘ 2016 is a 6 metre height suspended sculptural composition. Rather than in water it floats in air.
It’s an exploding apparition where its anti-gravitational dynamic ultimately expresses a vision and notion of invisible forces which surround us, shaping and forcing us to go with the flow! |
Fine Art Sails at Cowes Week 2016 |
Still at sea, this time at Cowes Week: The British Olympic Sailing Team, ‘dressed up in artwork‘ again further promoting Michael Ross' vision and passion for sailing and art combined in another spectacular racing event on England's South coast this October. Stainless steel mirrored sculpture ‘EVE‘ |
Still at the seaside, Monaco's newest state-of-the-art private members' lifestyle club opened in September.
For the opening a selection of fine art including examples of my sculpture were presented by Oliver Hawkins as part of the inaugural celebrations. |
Alda Dizdari violin concert at ‘ART&MUSIC‘, France |
|
Mesh and panel sculpture ‘LUNA‘ and ‘ASTILLNUWD‘ |
Still in Southern France, for the main event of the autumn, Oliver Hawkins also invited me to show at a stunning French farmhouse and gardens just north of Monaco. The ‘ART&MUSIC‘ event presented sculpture both inside and throughout the generous gardens of this former monastery with Alda Dizdari in concert on violin.

‘TENSUS‘, 51cm height and French artist Keymi |
Lilford Gallery in Canterbury again took part in this year's Canterbury Festival, also sponsoring the fantastic 'Orphan Colours' as well as exhibiting a selection of my recent sculpture. |
Turner Contemporary, Margate |
More great fun at the English seaside when McCabe Ford Williams co-sponsored the Turner Contemporary summer exhibition "Seeing Round Corners - The Art of the Circle” on Margate's seafront and we're delighted that our accountant is also sponsoring art events such as this one. |
New steelmesh sculpture ‘SINEU‘ and ‘CYNEU‘ 2016, 74cm height |

‘BIENNALE VEGHEL‘ 2016 is coming up very soon and many thanks to the Van Loon Galleries who will exhibit a selection of my new sculpture at this event. Moving from strength to strength this event follows on from the highly successful Vught Biennale summer event and is the latest in a series of events conceived and created by Joris van Loon who continues to champion contemporary painting, sculpture and glass with an International stable of artists.
