BPS Hedges Chaos
Many TFA members in England are reporting that their online RPA maps are in chaos in relation to the information they are showing about hedges. Non-existent hedges have appeared on maps and hedges that are there in reality have been missed off. This is despite the fact that a number of members have reported providing hedge information through ELS agreements previously. The RPA is due to issue guidance on this matter over the next couple of days so members should look out for its appearance on the Gov.uk website which can be accessed by clicking here.
The headline advice is that if the hedges are not required for either EFA purposes or a 2018 Countryside Stewardship claim they can be left to be updated later in the year. Those who do need to submit RLE1 forms are advised to submit their application or Countryside Stewardship first and on time. This should be accurate and reflect what is on the ground. Then an RLE1 can be submitted with a sketch map before 6th July 2018. RPA will check for outstanding RLE1 forms before processing applications.
