We're thrilled to share that we'll be taking Peter and the Wolf on tour this summer. EBT will present four Magic Bus performance versions of Peter and the Wolf at Bellevue summer schools. We can't wait to bring this fun story alive for local school children at these interactive outreach assemblies.

Families, you should have received a separate email with more details and an invite for dancers to participate earlier this week. Please email info@emeraldballet.org if you did not.

Our regular Magic Bus assemblies will return next Spring with a Visual Arts theme. Would you like EBT to perform at your school? Learn more here or email info@emeraldballet.org to schedule your assembly.

TI

EBT's Teaching Institute continues this summer with workshops and internships. TI participants can also take on more of a leadership role in the Peter and the Wolf Magic Bus performances. This is a great opportunity for teens to expand their skill set and earn community service hours for school. All incoming 8th graders and older are encouraged to participate.

Kick-off meeting: There will be a teaching methods workshop at the studio on Tuesday, June 12 from 8:00-8:30 p.m.

Summer internships will be available during EBA Flower Fairy Camp, Mermaid Camp and Saturday PreBallet classes, and BSD preschool classes the week of BSD Magic Bus. Please contact Ms. Sarah at sarahj@emeraldballet.org for more information.

Congratulations to Katie Lowell, who is the first recipient of the Teaching Institute Outstanding Mentor Scholarship. Katie has been dancing with EBA and EBT since she was in preschool. She is a leader among her peers and a trusted mentor and teacher for many younger students. In the fall, Katie will attend Mercyhurst College to double major in Ballet and Elementary Education.

Established in 2017 by a private donor, this $200 cash scholarship recognizes exceptional leadership and character among dancers in the EBT community.

EBT's official school, award-winning Emerald Ballet Academy, offers a wide variety of programs for recreational, pre-professional and therapeutic students, ages 3 and up.

giveTHISbig2

We are so grateful to our community for supporting us on Give BIG. We raised over $650 for EBT's Scholarship Fund on May 9. This money will help provide dance education, pointe shoes, performance and competition opportunities for students who otherwise could not afford them.

Missed Give BIG? You can still contribute by donating directly through our website. Designate “Scholarship Fund,” or we will determine where funds are most needed. Thank you!

Amazon Smile

If you will be shopping at Amazon this summer, we encourage you to designate Emerald Ballet Theatre as your charity on smile.amazon.com. It's simple to do, and then every time you buy eligible purchases from Amazon, EBT will receive 0.5% of your price.
