Bike to Work Week a Success

Thank you for all the miles and smiles from the bicycle commuters we met recently during our Bike to Work Week activities. Our Commuter Resource team was up bright and early to greet commuters who use pedal power to get work. Like most transit authorities across the country, RIPTA works to promote alternate modes of commuting that reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicles.

Thanks to our sponsors, we were able to offer snacks, prizes and information to two-wheeled commuters who are getting healthy and helping the environment!

DREAM BIG

Pursue your dreams and we'll try to help get you there! Last week we took part in the two-day Dare to Dream Youth Leadership Conference held at the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston campus. We were there to introduce young riders to public transit and RIPTA services.

The conference was attended by more than 1,200 youths with diverse learning and healthcare challenges.

We look forward to seeing them on our buses as they move on to high school, college and careers.

RIPTA THROWS IN THE TOWEL
Each year, Amos House provides recovery based transitional shelter housing to hundreds of men and women. That means we go through a LOT of towels! One of our employees learned about their need and asked RIPTA employees to throw in the towel – so we did! During the month of April, RIPTA employees collected over 4 boxes of new towels for Amos House guests. Want to donate new towels?

Call at Amos House at 401-831-9866 for details.
