How long have you been crafting? Since Junior High School
What is your main creative outlet? Actually cooking is my main creative outlet, I’m surprised I haven’t made a recipe journal. Can you believe I use to paint kitchen aprons?
How did you get started? A crafty friend invited me to a Creative Memories party in 1999. I became a consultant. I went to my first scrapbooking convention in 2003 and realized it was a whole new world and was hooked for life.
What are you currently working on? Purging my craft room, I have too much stuff, and scraps and odds and ins, and ….. can you imagine? lol
How much time do you spend creating each week? Mmmm it varies, but each week I craft or organize. My craft room was my guest bed room and I didn’t realize how much I had until I moved the bed and dresser out.
Where do you get your ideas/inspiration? Most of my crafting is for my customers, who request mini albums and cards. Blog Challenges are my favorite to create from.
Favorite Tool and why? Big Shot! It cuts all kinds of die cuts, sizzlets, and embosses. The Cameo keeps calling my name, I haven’t answered yet. lol
Favorite Technique and why? My favorite technique is a Mini album with interactive pages. Oh the possibilities!!!
Time or Money Saving Tip Shop on a budget. The February ‘No Shopping Challenge’ at Scraps of Color was my fave. We did it years ago and I try to achieve it every year. Always keep a list of things you “need” and never go to a craft store without a coupon. Set a budget and if what you have in your basket surpass your budget, review your purchases and find out what you truly “need.” I never take a credit card, only cash.
Organizational Tip Mmmm I’m working on that now and seeking help. Organizing by themes seems to be helpful. My problem is letting go to avoid the clutter.
Do you have a scrap room or space?
I have a craft room, but it’s a work in progress so I will share my Blog Sign I painted for my craft room and it includes My Scrapbook Prayer, which I’m so proud of. Also I would like to share a card and an altered composition book with a tag I created recently.
Anything else you want to say to Scraps of Color members. First thank you Tiare for keeping SOC opened. I’ve met so many sisters in person and can’t wait to meet more. I would hope everyone would log in more to chat, share their creativity and join challenges. I love this place! It's an honor to be selected.
