The NRL kicks off this Thursday, and the AFL next Thursday. Gilly's tips below and we'll have Keka's and Dipper's start next week. Good luck in your footy pools this season, hopefully the boys predictions are spot on!
Round 1 - Trevor Gillmeister (available this year around Origin, rare treat!)
Storm v BRONCOS.
• Always close games but the Storm normally come out on top. But a few changes to the Storm side and no Slater.
KNIGHTS v Sharks.
• Everyone is talking the Knights up so they need to fire this year and they’re better at home.
ROOSTERS v Rabbits.
• The local derby always produces a good game. Roosters look a formidable side again.
Warriors v DOGS.
• I get sucked into the Warriors, so they will probably win now. I think the Dogs might frustrate the Warriors.
TIGERS v Sea Eagles.
• I think Tom Trbojevic is a big loss for Manly, and their playing at Leichardt Oval.
COWBOYS v Dragons.
• The Cowboys under performed last year. So they’ll be looking to start the year with a bang.
PANTHERS v Eels.
• Another local derby and both clubs genuinely don’t like each other. Eels don’t have a recognised hooker.
TITANS v Raiders.
• I’m biased because I’m doing some work at the Titans. But I think there a genuine top 8 chance if they stay injury free.
