Independent Riders may stop by the Registration Tent and pick up your plate at the race this weekend.

There will be two race plates for each rider. A large plate with the timing chip, to be placed on the bike handlebars. A smaller back tag, to be pinned on the back of the jersey.

COACH PLATES
We will have these plates again this year! Each team will be receiving these plates with their racer plates.

REMINDER - REPLACEMENT PLATES
If you lose or damage your plate during the season, there is a $35 fee. Replacement plates will not be personalized.

All registered riders will receive a race plate that will be used for the entire season. Once the plate is handed out, it is the responsibility of the rider and their coach to safe guard this plate. In other words, do not lose it!

The MN League Skills Challenge is back for 2019!

SKILLS CHALLENGE COURSE IS BACK

Sponsored by Framed Bikes

In between races, stop by and check out the Skills Challenge Course and test your bike handling skills!

We are giving out hardware to the top 5 middle school and high school male and female participants. Medals are made possibly by contributions from Framed Bikes and Wolf Tooth. Thank you!

Skills Challenge Course will be open Saturday and Sunday on a race weekend. New this year: Middle school students will compete on Saturday and high school students will compete on Sunday. The course will open each day at 9am and close when the last race lines up for that day. (Around 3pm). Medals will be handed out with race day awards on Sat. and Sunday. Note: All participants must have their number plate visible on their bike to participate.

Take the challenge, because there is more to racing than just speed.

This skills course is built to challenge a rider’s stability and handling on the bike. It offers tight corners and log hops, as examples - two skills that are commonly used on the trail while riding and racing. New and experienced riders can take the challenge and test their bike handling skills.

Other riding skills put to the test include: balance, tight turns, breaks control, ratcheting, range of motion on the bike, wheel lifts, focus and concentration.

Remember, more highly-skilled riders are safer riders.

Remember the race course is the playing field for our student athletes.

MN LEAGUE RACE TIP #3

SPECTATORS - KNOW THE RULES RELATED TO OUR RACE COURSE

We have set up these rules to keep our racers and spectators safe. Just as at a football or baseball game, walking onto the course is not allowed. IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!

▪ The course is taped off in many areas. But in non-taped areas, the course officially does include the single track plus 3 feet on both sides.
▪ You can cross the course where there is an opening in the tape and when permission is given by the volunteer crossing marshal. Going under the tape is not allowed at any time on Saturday or Sunday!
▪ Do not walk, run or ride on course. Follow side paths or off course trails to gain access to viewing areas. Some remote areas of the course simply may not be accessible to spectators.
▪ When in remote areas, cross the course only prior to and upon completion of each race. It’s a silent sport and often racers and spectators lose track of each other in the heat of the race. We have had several close calls.

We always hope for beautiful race day weather!

MN LEAGUE WEATHER POLICY

In the event of challenging weather, review our Weather Policy and Guidelines.

Our primary consideration is the safety of racers, race support staff, race visitors, and potential damage to the race course site.

Any decisions regarding cancellation or altering race start times, lap lengths, or number of laps, etc. will be made jointly by the MN League Director, the Land Manager, and the MN League Chief Referee. Often, this decision cannot be made until the morning of the race due to the unpredictable nature of wet or stormy weather.

The MN League will make every attempt to notify people via two of our race communication channels: Rained Out text app, PA Announcements at the race and on Facebook and Twitter.

Review the MN League weather policy and guidelines.
