As a griot (or "guardian of the culture") N'Faly Kouyaté has taken on the responsibility of preserving the cultural heritage of artists, and in particular the musical traditions of West Africa. His aim is to develop a deeper understanding of these traditions and, above all, to share his passion for his own history and musical legacy.

Violinist Ellika Frisell and singer and kora player Solo Cissokho have been a celebrated duo for many years. NOW they are enhanced with the addition of a great percussionist Rafael Sida.

Ellika plays in the rich Swedish folk tradition where as Solo is a griot from Senegal, a storyteller, praise singer and wandering musician and joining them now is legendary drummer and percussionist Rafael Sida from Mexico a prominent member on the Swedish jazz and world music scene.

This is music from Sweden, Senegal and Mexico in a colourful mix highlighting the strong musical individuality of each musician. A lyrical, groovy and unique music for dancing, listening or both.

Ellika Frisell and Solo Cissokho first met in Stockholm in 1998. After two prize winning albums and receiving the BBC World Music Award they have taken a further step by including master percussionist Rafael Sida in the group. Pure joy to watch and listen!

For a long time we've known of Borrina through his work with Borrina and Longo ..He is an author, composer, singer, guitarist, percussionist, he is also an arranger, producer, dancer and choreographer and now with his latest project campaigning through music against deforestation for his new album and live performance with full band.. Quite wonderful!

Gregory Boyd is a steel pan player extraordinaire, he's opened shows for some super big names including Bob Dylan and Macy Gray to name just two.

Who is Gregory Boyd? Well quite simply he Rocks The SteelPans. Blending the sound of SteelPan with a Blues/Soul vocal to make very something special. Coming from Northern and Southern USA Traditions he's related to Blues Legend Muddy Waters.

Gregg Kofi Brown has been a member of the world class African pioneers OSIBISA for over 22 years and has travelled all over the world promoting the music of Ghana.

'Together as One' is Gregg Kofi Brown's first solo album and features the likes of STING, STANLEY JORDAN, GABRIELLE, DES'REE & BILLY COBHAM. This album is a combination of the African & jazz music that have driven Gregg's career. With conscience laden lyrics and funky afro-rhythms Gregg has a created a multi-national musical platform with his guest artists that speaks to many peoples across the world.

Gregg Kofi Brown was executive producer of the 2003 Evening Standard cover-mount CD give away in memory of Damilola Taylor which featured the likes of Robbie Williams, Craig David, Gorillaz, Blue and Ms.Dynamite.

As an actor/singer Gregg has appeared in several hit London Westend musicals including: Tommy, The Blues Brothers, The Buddy Holly Story and portrayed Jellyroll Morton at the Royal Court Theatre.

Since joining OSIBISA Gregg has been invited to record and tour with many African and Caribbean artists such as Youssou Ndour (Senegal), George Lee (Ghana), Marta Ulaeto (Africa Rise album for Nigeria Independence anniversary), Abdel Kabir (Lye Ngum, Gambia), Ekome' (Ghana/Jamaica), Chaka Demus & Pliers (Jamaica) and Benjamin Zephania (Jamaica).

Gregg Kofi Brown is featured vocalist and songwriter on Billy Cobham's Sony album "Drum N' Voice" and has written & performed on Stanley Jordan's new album 'Dreams of Peace'. As a musician and singer he has also worked with ISAAC HAYES, BOMB THE BASS and FINLEY QUAYE.

Their vibrant African cross-rhythms brought new life to a tired rock scene, and they were one of the first bands to popularise African music in Europe, America, and the rest of the world; they've been called the Godfathers of World Music!

For four decades they've been delighting audiences with their energetic fusion sound that covers everything from African, Caribbean and rock to jazz, Latin and R&B; as yet their astounding live performances show no signs of slowing down. Osibisa are joyous, unstoppable, and here to stay, availability is all year round.

2013 sees the addition of a new singer; the band begins a new phase of its existence, and one hell of a new powerhouse show... Nominated for BBC R3's awards for world music in 2007 Les Boukakes based in France have gained a degree of national success and international interest. Formed in 1999, Les Boukakes originally comprised seven members from a variety of ethnic backgrounds - Tunisians, Corsicans, Italians and French who came together to create a sound system that developed into a high-energy band.

Now a powerhouse 5 piece .. it's a supreme example of a unique sound drawn from Arabic roots and a sound of today. Their name is a response to unkind comments thrown at them: "boukake" being a phonetic mixture of two typical racist insults.

But what of the music, its a firey mix fusing Rai and Rock and Reggae, "Like Rachid Taha, Les Boukakes are intent on fusing North African grooves, rock guitars and lyrics sung in French and Arabic." - Garth Cartwright, BBC awards for world music.

You're going to be hearing a lot more about this fabulous band glorifying in their unique mix of cultures, a melting pot coming up with the wickedest sound imaginable.
