I read a lot of books this month! Following surgery on my wrist and elbow I was really limited with what I could do. So I read! The picture is of all the books I read this month but I will only be reviewing a few.

This is not light reading. This a factual account of the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl.
Full of facts and details of why it happened and exactly what went wrong.

My one 5 star of the month. I really enjoyed this book about about Ellie and Homa.
Brought together as children by tough circumstances they are then separated only to be reunited later in life.
The changes in their lives make maintaining a relationship challenging.
Will they be able to grow into the Lion Women they dreamed about?
Based in Teran in the 1950s. A novel that explores the power of friendship over class divisions.

Honeysuckle Season by Mary Ellen Taylor

This was just a sweet Summer read.
With a magical greenhouse, a hunky guy, a mystery about the past and to top it off, the main character Libby is a photographer.
I enjoyed it.

The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo

Jumping back and forth from the 1970s to 2016 this is a story of a family.
Marilyn and David have raised 4 very different daughters.
We get to learn a bit about each daughter. We also get to learn about Marilyn and David.
The reader learns what their daughters think of them. But even better we get to see where their family all began. When Marilyn and David began.
This novel is packed full of family secrets and misunderstandings and the power of love to hold it all together.

I cannot imagine the courage and strength it took for people to travel the Oregon Trail!
This is a story of Naomi and John Lowry.
How they fell in love. How they lost each other and how they found each other again.
A story about the conflict between those who were here and those who came.

Bear by Julia Phillips
I liked the cover. I was interested to read a story based on San Juan.
I was confused by the book. The best thing I can say about it? It is short.
I didn't like the characters the story went nowhere and overall it was just sad.
