July Recap

I spent the first 3 weeks of July healing from my surgery and counting the days down. After 4 weeks of not being allowed to pick up my camera, I was finally able to get back to work!
I had 3 super fun sessions all in a row and I was so thankful to be back!
I also did some hiking, gardening, reading and enjoyed having my niece and her family (hello 5, 3 and 1 year olds!) at our house.
Two weekends in a row we headed to the beach for the day and have been fully committed to soaking in all the Summer fun!

Max and Katie

When Max reached out to me about helping him capture the moment he planned to propose to Katie I was so excited!
As he explained to me his plans I was impressed!
Max is a detailed guy! As well as thoughtful! He knew her nails would be done, he picked a beautiful location at the perfect time of day (hello golden hour) and had a plan for how to surprise her!
I loved being part of the plan. My part was to stay hidden but be ready when the moment arrived.
It was perfect! And happily she said yes!! After the initial excitement we then took some time to take some formal portraits.
I am thrilled to be their photographer for their wedding next year!

Family Reunions

Summer 2024

This was my 3rd year of being invited Popi and Tutu Camp. This wonderful family gather's each Summer and has the best time! Flying in from various States they gather under Popi and Tutu's roof for one happy weekend each Summer. There are excursions, games, fun in the pool, matching T-shirts and it all concludes with a photo session!

I just finished showing Tutu her gallery and I watched her get emotional looking at the photos of her beautiful family. Oh how I love being able to do that for people!

I am already on the schedule for next year and I can't wait! I hear there will be a brand new grandbaby joining the fun!

How about your family?

Do you have a special family gathering coming up? Is there a big reunion or unusual gathering of all the family happening? I would love to help you capture that special time with photos. Don't hesitate to reach out and ask all the questions. I love helping people plan their sessions.

Grandkids

When two of your grandkids live in Florida and the other two live in Washington State it is super special when you are all in one place at the same time!
Due to the world wide computer meltdown the Florida crew missed their scheduled flight. Which meant we had to shift when the session would be. The only time we could make the schedule work was a mere 4 hours after 2 of those sweet kiddos had gotten off a flight from Florida!
With the one two punch of dealing with a 3 hour time change and the stress of flying across country now they were being asked to pose for a stranger with a camera!
They all did wonderfully and it was a lot of fun capturing all that energy!

Class of 2025 - It's your turn!

Do you have someone in your life who will be graduating next year? If they are in need of a Senior photographer please know that Fall sessions book up fast.
Also, did you know that high schools have Fall deadlines for senior photo submissions?
Every single year I get parents who are anxious to find a photographer last minute because they just found out about the deadline.
Find out when your school's deadline is and book your photographer ASAP!
Remember you not only need the schedule the session (among sports, school and jobs) your photographer will also need to time to edit the gallery before you actually receive it.
I still have availability in August! Beat the rush and get your senior session booked today!

Bear by Julia Phillips

I liked the cover. I was interested to read a story based on San Juan.

I was confused by the book. The best thing I can say about it? It is short.

I didn't like the characters the story went nowhere and overall it was just sad.

SPOILER ALERT

and yes, the bear eats her!!
