We hope you're as excited as we are for '80s Prom tonight! There's no school or work tomorrow for Thanksgiving, so get your tickets now for just $10 right here.
This year's event will be held at Steam (aka the former Vagabond) so we welcome back all the vagabonds at large, as well as our main '80s Prom crew! In the Main Ballroom Ray Milian and Tommy Gunn play all your favorite new wave and dance hits, in the Enchanted Garden Miami's beloved prom band The State Of play a full set of '80s covers, and DJ Hottpants and Alx Czo spin booty jams, freestyle, hip hop and guilty pleasures. You can also expect elegant decorations, slow dances, prom photo booth by Jipsy of NefariousGirl.com, Mo cooking up food out back, $3 PBR 9-11pm, and $5 prom punch all night. Doors at 9pm (and btw the club is now smoke-free inside!). |
After Thanksgiving we hope to see you at some point this weekend for Record Store Day Black Friday and Small Business Saturday! On Friday morning we’re opening at 8am sharp and stocking tons of the exclusive Black Friday releases. The full list is here: http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases
Like on RSD, anyone waiting in line before 7:30am will get to “call” ONE pick, which we’ll reserve for you (and it's one per customer per release as always). We’ll have free (spiked) vegan egg nog and cookies for those in line, AND we're also offering 10% off ALL used LPs, 3-for-1 dollar records, clearance CDs, and giveaways on toys, CDs, and merch. The sales continue through the weekend.

Sweat will be opening at 8am with a ton of Record Store Day’s Black Friday titles! Here is the master list of all the Black Friday 2014 official releases. Like RSD, the dedicated folks in line before 7:30am will get to “claim” ONE pick of their choice, which we’ll reserve for you if it's available.
Like with Record Store Day, we have ordered as many titles as possible but won’t know what quantities we’ll receive. Please read the Black Friday FAQ, especially before calling the store to ask us a question that’s already answered there. |

XYZA SHOWCASE
XYZA artists and Miami, FL beat makers Phantasman and Lautlos will be performing back-to-back live sets at Sweat Records for Art Basel 2014. The dark and dirty 8-bit sounds of The Phantom of Miami producer, Phantasman, break into the dream induced chiptune tracks of lucid Lautlos on Saturday, December 6th. Join XYZA from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. to experience the classic music of the digital future.
