This is the first newsletter of the year twenty eighteen anno domini.
Hope you had a good Christmas and New Year and that storm Eleanor is not causing you serious problems.
It's the perfect time to look forward and make big plans, because 2018 is going to be better and better... (don't you agree) but only if we plan and make it happen that way.
Q. Where do you see yourself in two years time?
A. It's hard to say unless you have 2020 vision.
erm.. sorry sorry..
I usually take some time out over the break to figure out the entrepreneurial plan for the year.. it's all about making stuff happen, being proactive, do you know what that means?
Basically talk about it (not forever - just enough to get creative), knock around some some ideas`, don't forget to think big, think out of the box.. then when the mood takes you make a list.
Here's what works for me.. make that list in one of those super posh notebooks, write it out long hand. Mentally so much better than on the back of an envelope, or note pad you will probably lose.
THEN make it happen, do the first thing on your list and do that first thing today.
You can let things just happen, (reactive) or you can make STUFF happen (proactive).
So us humans can be both Reactive and Proactive, in fact think about it we generally are both. Logically depending on lots of factors a percentage of each. And we need to be somewhat reactive, or we'd never avoid that speed trap or pay our taxes on time.
But if you just live all your day reacting to stuff, you'll never move forward, so sometimes it pays to block out the drains on our time and focus on creative stuff only.
To make good stuff happen, you need to be at least 50% Proactive.
Here is an example. Mr Reactive is holiday in Rome with his family, looking for the perfect place for lunch. Wondering through the streets of the old town, lots of guys are inviting you in to their particular pizzeria , one guy is charming and convincing and you go with the flow.
Mrs Proactive has checked the Trip Adviser reviews, cross checked with google maps, and discovered a hidden gem over looking the River Tiber. it's pretty clear who is most likely to have the most memorial and epic meal of the break.
So unless you are apathetic and ignorant about live and business, then you have to think about this stuff right.
Q. Whats the difference between Apathy and Ignorance?
A. I don't care and I don't know!
OK sorry again, no more bad jokes in 2018 :)
Time to move on. Did you know that 2018 is going to be the Chinese Year of the Dog?
Hopefully (with lots of proactive list making) that doesn't mean it's going to be a ruff year ..

Moving on..
Meanwhile back in the UK, we are catching up with the back log of orders received over the Christmas break. Realistically we should be back on track by the end of next week.
We are proactively doing our best, but there are lots of containers arriving in January, which is both good news and bad :), because it slows other jobs down. But the fresh stocks will fill a lot of gaps.
It's Valentines Day very soon and the main focus of orders right now, see below for our offers and deals. AW is your best place for the Season of Love.. (valentines, mother's day, wedding season)

Just a reminder, Easter is very early this year in March just 12 weeks away.
