The Service of Tenebrae (Tenebrae is the Latin word for ‘shadows’) is a prolonged meditation on Christ’s suffering. The Scripture readings trace the story of Christ’s passion, the music portrays his pathos, and the power of silence and darkness display the drama of this momentous event. As lights are extinguished, we ponder the depth of Christ’s suffering and death. On the 5th Sunday of the month, we take a special offering for the Benevolence Fund. Money given to this fund is used to care for church family members. Checks can be made out to CLC with Benevolence on memo line or donations can be made online. Thank you. | www.goodnessgrows4all.org Our Mission Statement: To cultivate personal, social, and community growth through gardening, education, and opportunity for people of all abilities. | Spring has arrived and so has the time of year for classrooms to return! Yay! This week, Transition started their spring visits. Crestview Middle School will begin next week and then Crestview High School comes back the following week. We love being able to work together with all these students and teachers. Stop in and see how it's going anytime! This week has been full of cleaning, planting and plant care, as well as watching the transformation of the courtyard. We also had a visit from Carrie Lawton from the Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities, who brought everyone snazzy new hats. On Wednesday, we headed out into the community. We dropped the books off at Goodwill, shopped at Ace, Rulli Brother's, Buttermaid Bakery, and then enjoyed lunch together at Chili's. It was a pretty great day! Last week, we sent out a March Newsletter. Check it out if you missed it. It's a good reminder that the time to sign up for the 2024 CSA with the Early Bird pricing is coming to a close.
