Countdown to Christmas Guessing Game Starts December 11 @ 9am!!

The contest begins on Monday, Dec. 11 with a question released at 9am on Facebook and via email. Questions will only arrive weekdays through Dec. 22. Each question is only open for guessing until the next question is revealed. One prize is awarded each day from a random drawing of correct answers from the previous day. One prize per person for the duration of the contest. If you are signed up for emails (see sign-up below), questions will arrive in your inbox at 9am. Facebook participants need to check the Allerton Public Library Facebook page for the 9am question. Submit your answer by replying each email or "Message" the Library in Facebook with your answers. Please do not add your answer as a "Comment" in Facebook.

Adult Programs

The Library hosts free Adult Programs throughout the year for the education and entertainment of our Adult Patrons. If you would like to volunteer to give a presentation or have an idea for one of our Adult Programs, please contact the Library. Check the Online Calendar for scheduled programs that begin with "Adult..."

UPCOMING ADULT PROGRAMS AT THE LIBRARY...

▪ PEARL HARBOR: A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY - Dec. 9 @10am. Historian, Jim Gibbons, will present the story of Pearl Harbor. Gibbons will show you the beginnings of the storms of war that led to the predawn attack. He will explain how our government in Washington and the people of the United States were wooed to vulnerability and then struck hard by the Empire of Japan. Open to the public and no registration required.
▪ MUSIC WITH MIKE HARRIS – Dec. 10 @1:45pm. Enjoy background music by Mike Harris during your visit to the Library.
▪ BINGO @ THE LIBRARY – Dec. 11 @ 2pm. Adults (18+) are welcome to attend. Small prizes are awarded.
▪ COMMUNITY SCAN DAY - Dec. 15 from 2 - 4:30pm. Share your historical photos with the community! Appointment times are still available. For information or to schedule an appointment, call 762-4676 or email info@monticellolibrary.org.

News

Another Holiday Reading Program Success
During November, children could sign up and then read for minutes towards the Holiday Reading Program and earning Library Bucks. The Library Holiday Shop for spending Library Bucks was this past Saturday, Dec. 2 and most of them shopped-til-they-dropped. The program was a great success this year with more than $1,900 in Library Bucks spent and over 95 shoppers.

▪ KIDS BINGO - Dec. 19 @ 10am. PreK through 5th grade can stop by the library for an hour of Disney Bingo and win bookish prizes. No registration necessary.
