The Hundredfold Farm Cohousing Community is a rural cohousing community in the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania area. The members of this multi-generational community are learning together as they explore the art of living in a sustainable way.

Fall Fest 2017

We were blessed with a beautiful sunny September day, and a healthy turnout, for our annual Fall Fest. As attested by the photos below, it was a successful event. If you were not able to attend this year, please consider joining us at next year's Fall Fest in September here at Hundredfold Farm.

Hay rides left from the Common House and made a circuit of the Hundredfold Farm property, stopping at our friends and neighbor Halbrendt Vineyard & Winery along the way.

Vigneron John Halbrendt greeted friends and visitors to the winery and offered a sampling of his fine wines. It was the perfect spot to pause and soak up the late summer sun with a glass of local wine.

The following morning, several Hundredfolders helped out at the vineyard for the vendage; the harvesting of the grapes.

Musical entertainment for the Fall Fest was provided by the Jazz Doctors and students from the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College.

The ringing of the community bell signaled dinner time! Hundredfolders love to cook and to eat. There is always plenty of food to go around.

Experience Hundredfold Weekend

This past Spring, we held our first Experience Hundredfold Weekend here at Hundredfold Farm. Individuals and families interested in cohousing and how it is lived here at Hundredfold Farm were invited to spend a weekend to get a lived experience of our life here at Hundredfold. The programmed weekend offered the opportunity to participate in a community work party, attend a committee meeting, learn about cohousing, tour our community, join in a community meal, and get to know the people living here at Hundredfold Farm. Guests stayed either at the Common House or with Hundredfolders who opened their homes in hospitality.

Look for information on future Experience Hundredfold weekends in forthcoming newsletters.

One of the most noticeable features of our homes here at Hundredfold Farm are the solar arrays affixed to our roofs. As panels age and their productivity decreases, we have been using the fine folks at Belmont Solar in Gordonville, PA to replace existing panels.

We celebrated the end of the summer with an evening fire on the Autumn Equinox. The weather has been warm of late, but the wood smoke and tinge of evening coolness reminded us that cooler days are ahead.
