Little things can become irritating, frustrating, and difficult. However, a relationship with Jesus allows us JOY! Real joy! Joy that can't be taken away! Today's lesson will help you rely on the joy that is found in Jesus. Happy Wednesday, Collide Kids! James 5:13: "...Are any of you happy? You should sing praises." Join Crew Leader Delania, Collide Kid Sarah, and spend 25 minutes together singing, dancing, laughing, and learning! Share your answers by email or on Facebook! | Youth Group 2020-2021 ~ Sundays 6-7pm | Welcome Back! | Youth Group started off the season happy to be back together, even with masks and social distancing. We made some plans for the fall, picked a Christmas project, wrote to a sick friend, spent time in prayer, and even played a game. Over the next few weeks, we plan to go to the corn maze, work on sorting and organizing for the Giveaway, dig into God's Word using popular songs, and more. Youth Group is open to kids in 5th through 12th grade We meet upstairs, so please enter through upper door. Parents, we have a YG permission waiver we need you to fill out next time you're here. | Youth Group Christmas Project 2020 This year the youth felt that our Christmas project should reflect the current situation in our country. With the pandemic and the quarantine resulting in job losses and economic hardship for many, food insecurity issues have increased in our valley and across the country. As a way to reach out and help our community, we have decided to collect donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. From the Food Bank's website: "In 2019, Second Harvest Food Bank distributed more than 11.5 million pounds of food to hungry individuals and families in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re already on pace to considerably exceed that amount in 2020. As of the end of March, the Food Bank had already distributed 41 percent more food compared to the same time period last year." After the Coat & Clothing Giveaway, we will put up our collection area for non-perishable food items as well monetary donations. Please prayerfully consider how you might help. | Youth Group Memory Verse: | Prayer For whom are you praying today? How can we pray for you? Whenever you have a prayer request, please don't hesitate to send it in! We are here to pray with and for you. Please take a minute to send in your prayer needs by early Monday mornings for inclusion in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Darla Smith for writing and Marcia Kreps for sharing Darla's uplifting words with us. These encouraging words fit in perfectly with Mike's message from last Sunday and his challenge to commit yourself to grow in Christ, get in the Word, get in prayer, and grow in grace and knowledge. "Our heavenly Father is certainly blessing us with this spectacular weather! He has made me glad! Try to enjoy some outside time if you can. Fall is upon us." "My word for this week is "SEEK." God has really been dealing with me to have a deeper relationship with Him, so it was no wonder this word is the one! Do you remember playing "hide & seek" when you were little? Our one main focus was finding the one we were "seeking." They didn't want to be found. The big difference here is when we "SEEK" Him - He wants to be found. It is His desire that we "SEEK" Him with our whole heart. Nothing else will do. We will find His strength, His joy, His peace by immersing ourselves in Him. Let's make it our desire to be in His presence. He wants to be found. He wants us to spend time with Him. Let's "SEEK" to have a closer, deeper relationship with Him. He has promised us a heavenly inheritance - Let's "SEEK" Him more this week - His promises are sure!" And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. ~ Jeremiah 29:13 | Devotionals Available Devotionals are available on tables throughout our Great Room. Much. Weeding.), harvesting and getting ready for the final CSA of 2020, and carrying bags and boxes of new donations for the Giveaway. On Wednesday, we even brought all the stored donations down from the Green Room, filling up the Sprouts Room and the Nursery. There hasn't been a dull moment! We even had a particularly interesting butterfly release, as our winged friend didn't actually want to leave the jar he had adopted as his home. On Tuesday, we happily greeted the delivery driver who brought a giant roll of plastic for the awnings out front. Rachel and Jade pitched right in, helping to carry the 80lb. box to the greenhouse for storage until the October 3 work day. Sadly, this is our last week with our intern, Jade.
