The Federal NDP is bringing forward a motion in the House of Commons on March 18th that will call for the immediate and unilateral recognition of a Palestinian State by Canada, circumventing critical negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
It calls for an arms embargo targeted against Israel at a time when Canada’s ally is fighting a defensive war against a terrorist organization (Hamas) that has sworn to destroy the Jewish state.
The motion will be debated and then voted on in Parliament shortly after.
