The Dark Pixie Newsletter - February 2017 Edition

We're a few weeks into 2017, and it's already been a cuckoo year! LOL I found it funny how everyone was saying 2016 sucked. The last couple years have been difficult thanks to two back-to-back t-squares, first a mutable one 2015-2016, then a cardinal one 2016-2017. So the sucky feeling may continue until Jupiter leaves Libra and we're done with this dreadful energy. But the back-to-back nature certainly seemed to kick all of us in the arse for 2016. With 2017 ending with both Mars and Jupiter in the same sign (Scorpio), hopefully we end 2017 on a high note!

One high note I can inject for y'all - readings! Since things changed so much for me personally last year, I revamped my schedule for 2017, and ended up being able to make time for astrology readings. I'll be scheduling readings through April. You'll get all of the info and be able to purchase readings starting with next week's newsletter, and I'll be booking readings for one week. If you really want to make sure you get a reading (and get a little deal), click HERE to be given early access on Sunday.

This February is a little bit busier than most Februarys! We start we Venus entering fiery Aries on February 3rd, and we can be more take-charge in love, excited and enthusiastic with our relationships and the people we care about, and focused on new love. Aries is the first sign in the Zodiac, so we may see a lot of new relationships, partnerships, and commitments forming.

On February 7th, Mercury enters air sign Aquarius, and we can be more intellectual and advanced, and want to gain better understanding, having more objective outlooks. You can communicate more freely and think more about the future, our dreams, and we can embrace original ideas and original thinkers. Mercury doesn’t stay long in Aquarius though, moving into watery Pisces on February 26th, joining the Sun in Pisces (who enters February 18th). We can be more compassionate, understanding, imaginative, intuitive, and want to be there for each other. This is added to with the first solar eclipse of the year occurring in Pisces on February 26th, and it can be a good time to help, to be of service, to make sacrifices, and to connect to our gentler, more whimsical sides.

The lunar eclipse this month is on February 10th in fiery Leo, the first eclipse for 2017, and we can be more positive with this eclipse, less focused on serious matters. Leo is a playful, positive sign, and we may want that. We can connect more to our hearts, spread love, and make love more of a priority. There may be some more theatrics though, since that is Leo-ruled, so let’s all try not to let emotions get the better of us.

Jupiter turns retrograde (appears to move backward) in airy Libra on February 6th, and opportunities may slow down, our energy and drive may not be as strong, and we may have some issues in relationships, with partners, with compromising, and with fairness and justice. Try to make the most of the energy for opportunities you have now before the slight slowdown. The one positive? The start of the retrograde begins at a positive angle to Saturn in Sagittarius, so we may actually be able to keep getting things done and still create opportunities, but we have to do things the right way and cover our bases (Saturn!).

This month is best for: PISCES

When to Start a New Business

With a new year now underway, some of you may be thinking about starting a new business in 2017. Anything to do with your career and professional life falls under the rulership of the 10th house and Saturn, so if you want to do this, you’ll want to do it under aspects to your 10th house cusp, 10th house ruler, or natal Saturn. If it’s something you want to be into for the long haul, sextiles and trines by Saturn can be beneficial; if it’s something that is a complete and total change from what you’re currently doing, Uranus aspects can be beneficial, and that can include the hard aspects, though you’ll want to make sure you’re not just making changes for the sake of making changes; sextiles and trines by Pluto can help you to gain more power and control over what you’re doing. You can also focus on the planet that rules whatever it is the business will be, and see positive aspects to the natal planet, progressed planet, or by the transit planet.

It’s helpful to also see positive aspects to the 6th house cusp, ruler, or Mercury, since they are the rulers of your work life and work environment. Difficult aspects may show you have a hard time adjusting to the new workload or work responsibilities or work schedule. Positive aspects help to smooth over the transition and make you focused on the nitty-gritty and small details that inevitably have to be dealt with when you’re starting a business.

The 2nd house is the house of money, so if you see positive aspects going on, this can show that you’ll be profitable (or at least not lose too much), while hard aspects can show that it’ll take longer for you to make it profitable. If you want to involve a business partner, or will need to take out loans or get investors, then you’ll want to focus on the 8th house and Pluto.

Prominent Uranus in the Natal Chart

If you have a prominent natal Uranus in your natal chart, you may feel a lot like an Aquarius, and that can be the case even if you don’t have any Aquarius planets in your natal chart or any planets in your 11th house (the house naturally ruled by Uranus/Aquarius). You can be more original and inventive, independent and innovative, rebellious and aloof, charitable and idealistic.

How do you know if you have a prominent natal Uranus? You qualify if your natal Uranus is conjunct a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars), conjunct one of the angles (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th house cusps), is in the 1st house, is the most or least aspected planet, is a singleton (the only planet in an element, quality, or house type), is anaretic (at 29 degrees), or at the Aries Point (0 degrees of a cardinal sign). Any of these can make your Uranus stand out and make the energy of Uranus more prominent for you.

With a prominent natal Uranus, you can be more intellectual and detached, even if you’re quite watery (lots of Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, 4th, 8th, or 12th house); you can be focus more on the future and what’s possible, even if you’re more earthy (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, 2nd, 6th, 10th houses); and you can be more methodical, even if you’re quite fiery (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, 1st, 5th, 9th houses). The more prominent your natal Uranus is, the more you may feel like an Aquarius than your actual Sun or Moon sign (if not in Aquarius).
