Autumn’s bounty extends to the numerous conferences and festivals of the Bay Area! This warm, glorious time allows us to re-connect before the rains return and the light diminishes. Slow Money's Farm Fest is one of our favorites and we invite you to come join us there. You might also consider spending a weekend at Sabor Mexicano Farm in the historic Colonel Armstrong Home in Sonoma County, built in 1890 where you can enjoy the spectacular colors of fall both at the farm and next door at Armstrong Redwoods Park. (We can even arrange an apple pressing across the way at the neighbor's ranch!)

Have a beautiful and bountiful Fall! - Marissa La Magna, Founder and Executive Director

temra-costa2012-2

Keynote Speaker: Temra Costa

Temra Costa has been advocating for a more sustainable food and farming system for more than a decade and is the award-winning author of Farmer Jane: Women Changing the Way We Eat. Prior to publishing her book, Temra inspired eaters and buyers to eat and buy more locally grown foods before local was a household name. She led the campaign to encourage consumers to buy locally produced food, serving as the Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign manager for Community Alliance with Family Farmers. During this time she help publish local food guides across California while linking farmers to more retailers, restaurants and schools for greater viability. After successfully launching Farmer Jane, Temra focused on communications and sustainability programming as a consultant in the natural foods sector with clients such as Clif Bar, Numi Inc., and Amy’s Kitchen. In July of 2016 Temra and her husband manifested their life dream of co-owning a farm, and soon to be educational center, on a 172-acre property just 20 minutes west of Sebastopol in Sonoma County. She lives and works on this eco-system rich land with her husband and two young sons, Teo and Quin.

Temra Costa is a tireless advocate for small-scale and sustainable farming in California.
