Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"Praying your week has been a blessed one. Here in Ohio, we are supposed to be up to 55 degrees. That will be a blessing for sure. Spring is just around the corner. Looking forward to all the beautiful colors of flowers soon. Seems like this has been an unusually long winter season. But through the seasons of life God is still good! And we are so blessed."

My Word for this week is “steward.” Are we being a faithful “steward” to God? Are we using what God has given us to minister to others? Our friends need us – our family needs us – our co-workers need us. All of us are appointed a time and season. We need to make use of every opportunity to be a good “steward” to those around us every day. In doing this with others, we are serving God. What an honor and privilege. What a blessing. Only what we do for God will matter. All else will fade away. Let us keep pressing onward to be His faithful “steward” in all things. May He find us all faithful in His eyes. May we be pleasing in our “steward” duties unto Him. Holy Spirit, lead and guide us in the path we need to be on. Let us keep our ears in tune with you, I pray. Seize every opportunity to be a good “steward” for Him."

Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. ~ 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 (NKJV)

Celebrating a Former Common Ground Kid

Kendra grew up at CGCC, going to VBS, participating in Sunday morning Garden classes and in Summer Fun, and much more. She loved to be helpful in the Garden. Now she is going to be a mom herself...and we look forward to meeting her soon-to-arrive little one! A baby shower was held here on Sunday to celebrate. (We sure do love having the space put to good use!) Please keep Kendra and the baby in your prayers.

News of the Week

It appears that we will have a normal five day work week this week. Maybe our snow days are over for the season! But next week will be a short week again, as we are closed on Monday for Presidents' Day.

We wrapped up last week with cleaning and putting the finishing touches on set up for the church ladies tea. Then we enjoyed a special lunch celebration for Tori's birthday. Nancy brought pizza and ice cream cake and we had fun singing and celebrating together.

This week started out with clean-up from the weekend's events, some heavy duty organizing in the kitchen, and sorting clothing donations. Our crew also celebrated Valentine's Day with tasty heart cookies and treats from their friends.

The rest of this week has been very busy and full of interesting activities. We planted our first seeds of this growing season! Yay!! We did inventory of what gardening tools we have and what we may need. The weather was even nice enough that we were able to go for a walk, during which we saw about 18 deer!! We're also ready for more clothing donations because we have sorted all the Giveaway clothes we have. Today, we are excited that we'll be working in the kitchen, making chicken noodle soup with Pastor Mike.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
