AUGUST 2022

SUBSCRIBE ( 2 print issues + 1 Digital Issue!)

Greetings Fam,

Hope your summer is going well! I have good news to share and — well — disappointing news.

The good news is our forthcoming Summer/Fall 2022 print issue is nearly at the print and will be on its way to your home shortly!

It pains me to share the fact that African Voices' entire website was hacked a few weeks ago. Everything was removed from the site. We were proud of the collection of poems, short stories, book and film reviews and profiles published on our website along with your comments and feedback. Unfortunately, the back up copy of the site lived on the server and was also removed.

I believe deeply in change and new beginnings so we look forward to building a new site with your input.

Thank you for your subscriptions, donations and support.

If you are seeking a short virtual creative writing workshop, please join our summer Sci Fi/Fantasy Writing workshop. The details are enclosed!

peace and blessings,

WRITING AN IMPERFECT WORLD: BUILD YOUR SCIENCE FICTION & FANTASY STORY!

REGISTRATION: $35 ($25 before 8/15/2022)
DATES: 8/17/22, 8/22/22, 8/24/22 and 8/31/22. TIME: 6:30 pm-8:30 pm.

Have you ever wondered why characters like you are missing from science fiction and fantasy literature that portray civilizations on a distant planet in the future? Imagine creating a unique world for readers to enjoy with the characters that reflect their lives? Science fiction genres motivate you to imagine the infinite possibilities of your reality and what is possible.

In our virtual writing room, you will learn to build strong characters with complex storylines that inspire readers to keep turning the page as the plot builds. You will delve into crafting imaginative stories that titillate the palates of unsung heroes, sheroes, and theyroes.

Work in a nurturing environment with writers who are beginning the art of writing science fiction and fantasy novels. Writing exercises will focus on plot, character development, and world-building. Complete your first short story or begin your speculative fiction novel!
