A Month to Celebrate Hearts & Love

"Spread love wherever you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." ...Mother Teresa

Sometimes hearts spring up in the most unusual places. I spotted this on a walk one day and felt as if Mother Nature had sent me a Valentine.

While romantic love might be the focus of Valentine's Day, I like to think we can enjoy Valentines with all our family and friends. A little candy. A few flowers. A lot of hugs. And catching sight of a heart or two in unusual places. So Happy Hearts' month.

Hidden Springs Mystery 2 - Murder Comes by Mail

Pre-Order Murder Comes By Mail May

Soon you'll be able to take another trip to Hidden Springs to see what new trouble has come to call on the peaceful little town. Murder Comes by Mail will be released in the middle of May, but you can pre-order your copy now at your favorite on-line book sites such as:
Amazon
Barnes & Noble
Christianbook.com
You can also ask your local bookstore to get the book for you. I love browsing around in bookstores, don't you?

Feisty cat character, Grimalkin makes a return appearance in Murder Comes by Mail. Love my furry characters and all the folks in Hidden Springs. I hope you will too.

February Valentine Giveaway - 3 Winners!

chocolates

I can't send out a newsletter without giving you a chance to win something. So since it's Valentine's month, a box of chocolates felt like a good prize. Along with a book, of course. Three winners will get a box of chocolates and their choice of an autographed copy of one of my books. To enter, send me an e-mail in answer to this newsletter or contact me from my website.

With your entry, tell me a Valentine story or your favorite Valentine gift. You don't have to share a story to enter, but your stories are always fun. I think I may have asked for Valentine stories in the past, but I know some of you will have more to share. (Please say if your story is for my eyes only as I might share a few of the stories forward One Writer's Journal. I never include places or last names.)

Again, any e-mail will get you entered. No story necessary, but they can be fun. Contest is open to those eighteen and older and the deadline for entries is February 27, 2016 at 12 midnight EST. You can be assured I will never share your e-mail information with anyone.

WHAT KIDS KNOW --
About why love happens between two particular people --
“No one is sure why it happens, but I heard it has something to do with how you smell. That’s why perfume and deodorant are so popular.” (Jan, age 9)
“I think you’re supposed to get shot with an arrow or something, but the rest of it isn’t supposed to be so painful.” (Harlen, age 8)
On What Falling in Love is like --
“Like an avalanche where you have to run for your life.” (Roger, age 9)
“It gives me a headache to think about that stuff. I’m just a kid. I don’t need that kind of trouble.” (Kenny, age 7)
How to Make Love Endure --
“Don’t forget your wife’s name…That will mess up love.” (Roger, age 8)
