Dear Animal Welfare Supporter,

Weimar Kitty Rescue

Recently, HSSF rescued 30 cats living in less-than ideal conditions in Weimar. The kitties are now released to HSSF and ready for new homes. Most are friendly. A few would prefer to be “outbuilding dwellers” with good potential to become friendly as time passes. Adoption fees are waived. Please call us to give a kitty a home this holiday.

Know Your Charities

During this time of giving, we came across an excellent guide by the Federal Trade Commission to help donors avoid charity scams. We hope you find it informative and keep it handy. CLICK HERE

No matter how appealing the cause may seem, never give your credit information to a telemarketer. Ask them to send you something in the mail to look over. Then, do the research. Have a safe and happy holiday.

Help Us Protect Animals in 2018

The Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills (HSSF) enforces laws that protect animals from abuse. Due to their life-threatening conditions, animals that are rescued or legally "seized," must be treated by veterinarians, and often require special diets to reach optimal health. Before they can be adopted out, some require professional training or rehabbing as well - all of which is expensive! We are funded solely by donations, grants and sales from our Used Book Storeand the New 2 You Thrift & Gift Store in Auburn (in the Raley's shopping center). As an independent nonprofit organization, we are not affiliated with any other entity, and we do not receive any government funding. All donations are tax-deductible.
