UNITED NATION'S ANTI-ISRAEL RESOLUTION
Israel has been in the international spotlight following the UN's anti-Israel resolution in late December. Interestingly, the UN refers to the Temple Mount and Western Wall, Judaism's holiest site, solely by their Islamic names in the resolution. It is also concerning that the U.N. General Assembly adopted 24 resolutions in 2016; 20 of which were anti-Israel resolutions. (The others were for North Korea, Syria, Iran and Russia.)
In 2009, PM Stephen Harper said, "we count ourselves among Israel’s closest partners." It is more apparent than ever that Israel needs the prayers of the church and for Canada to remain a strong and reliable friend in the coming days.

PARIS "PEACE" CONFERENCE
On January 15th, Paris is hosting a Middle-East peace summit with representatives from 70 countries to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and determine a "two-state" solution to "peace" in Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned, "they will try to turn decisions made there into another decision in the [UN] Security Council."
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
There are a few easy, but impactful steps you can take to support Israel personally and encourage Canada to defend Israel on the International level as well.
1) PRAY
Please pray for Israel, for PM Netanyahu, PM Justin Trudeau, and the upcoming conference; Pray that Israel would be defended and protected against this potential attack.
2) ASK CANADA TO STAND WITH ISRAEL
Please join us in e-mailing Justin Trudeau, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and your own Member of Parliament asking them to stand with Israel and to demonstrate this support at the January 15th conference. Your e-mail can be simple and to the point; the more Canadians these individuals hear from the better!

Min. Foreign Affairs, Chrystia Freeland (as of Jan. 10): E-mail chrystia.freeland@parl.gc.ca, or @cafreeland on Twitter.
