A very sincere thank you to all our amazing families, staff, and students (both current and former) for supporting our Twilight Carnival through volunteering your precious weekend time or, donating items and services to make the event a great success. Such an undertaking is undeniably huge and time consuming so I must say a very big thank you to Vicki Christofilopoulos and the members of the Carnival Committee for leading this event and putting in so much effort and commitment to ensuring its success. Thank you to Kellie Badge, Sarah Jenkins, Sarah Wall, Leigh Shani, Sammi Moffatt, Gurdeesh Kaur, Ruwani Jayaweera, Maxine Mollaei, Louise Nicholls, Taya Danchenko, Darcie Weetman and Dominic Schuiling.
Mr Brendyn Flood and his son, Taidyn also worked tirelessly to ensure that the day ran smoothly. We can’t thank you enough too.

At the time of writing, we have made nearly $50,000 which will make a huge difference to our “Learning off the Land” Indigenous Kitchen Garden program. Watch this space for updates regarding the implementation of this initiative. We are very excited!
What is happening over the next few weeks at Malvern Valley?
It is a non-stop term of events. After the public holiday next Monday, the year 3 and 5 students will be undertaking their respective NAPLAN assessments covering English and Mathematics content. Our year 3-6 teachers have been working very hard to ensure that our students are well prepared and ready to take on this challenge.
Harmony Day is scheduled for the 21st of March. This is a great day to celebrate our diverse cultural backgrounds and the launch of our Greek language learning. This will be a free dress day so that our students can proudly wear their cultural costumes, national colours, or orange to celebrate our diversity. Mrs Surenian has some great activities planned so please watch Compass for more information.
Please watch Compass for further updates regarding the events for this day or to assist with sharing your stories and backgrounds with our students.
School photos are booked for Thursday, 30th of March so make sure you book in the haircuts before this day. There is information in this newsletter regarding how to pay for school photos online.
Twilight Sports is one of the biggest social events on the MVPS calendar. It will be held in the last week of the Term One on Wednesday, 5th of April between 5-7pm. Make sure you bring a picnic blanket, some delicious snacks and support your child’s School House!
Reminder: JSC and Green Team Badge Presentation 9:30am Friday 10th March
We are looking forward to presenting the Junior School Council and Green Team with their badges at our next assembly this Friday. Due to the long weekend, we have moved the assembly time to 9:30am to ensure that all leaders will be there to receive their badge. We will return to afternoon assemblies after the 10th.
Have a great week!
