Fair News Monthly Updates May 2020 Banner copy

Dear All Moral Fairground supporters,

I am sure that we all expressed a sign of relief when some of the restrictions were lifted giving everyone in Australia with the opportunity to feel some normality and being able to connect with our families and friends. something we have all yearned for.
It has been particularly difficult for me as being around people, connecting with family and friends, making connections is something I love doing. I remain grateful that the people I know have not been impacted by COVID-19 in terms of health at the same time, I am sadden to see so many enterprises having to close doors or restart again. I have also humbled by the generosity of people, the resilience of the ethical business sector, which despite all the challenges, continues to deliver impact. I can say with confidence that this has made us all a lot stronger, a lot more innovative and entrepreneurial and a lot more flexible in our ways and a whole lot more resilient.

Susanna & the Moral Fairground Team.

Join us for our second online event as we discuss how we must shift our mindsets to actively rediscover & lean into our power, embrace our sovereignty and shape our paths as women in business, and explore the skills and abilities we need to thrive in a post-COVID 19 world.

How and what we consume and create has been shifting over time, and the current pandemic and economic shifts are further accelerating this. They call us to respond in ways outside of the previous, predominantly masculine, normal.

Introducing round two of ‘Changing Stories’ with skilled teacher Sandy McDonald who is an author, TEDx speaker, storytelling trainer and communication coach.
Changing Stories is a two-part program that spans over 5 weeks that trains you to tell stories that educate, influence and change the narrative. Storytelling, when done skillfully, is a powerful tool that creates connection and empathy which allows for the fostering of trust and willingness to collaborate. It is in telling contextualized, purpose-led stories that you can change a perspective, transform thinking, and contribute to a narrative of hope and action.

In recovering from this time of crisis, rather than sharing stories that create despair and inaction we can use storytelling to promote hope, clarity of vision, and collaboration.

Kim Greenstone - Fairtrade Australia

Fairtrade is about stable prices, decent working conditions and the empowerment of farmers and workers around the world.

As Fairtrade breathes and operates to strive for improved work conditions in developing countries, the insight it has as an organization into shaping the impact economy is one that is rich in experience and results, which we value and wish to tap into in our pursuits to share on this topic in our upcoming Re-Think, Re-Set, Re-Boot: Reshaping the Impact Economy event in October 2020. Our mission, as ever, is to bring people together to create networks of like-minded and well-informed individuals who care about People, Planet, and purpose. All of the people on our planet – not just ourselves and our local communities. Moral Fairground has a long term relationship of partnering with Fairtrade Australia & New Zealand to advocate for healthy and fair working rights of those who form an incredibly important, though often invisible and voiceless, part of our economy.

Kim Greenstone serves as a representative of the initiative to ‘promote fairness and justice’ and ‘increase awareness, engagement, and demand for the advocacy of Fairtrade’ and has joined our committee as someone who can share another important perspective that we ourselves may not be able to completely cover or speak for and thus accurately represent.

We hope you enjoy learning about our committee members as much as we do if so join us for a short exploration into Kim Greenstone’s role and drive for fairness for all. Continue reading here.....

Regenerate was a great success

Last months networking event ‘Regenerate’ was a wonderful experience of taking our events online successfully! With 3 great facilitators and speakers, 40+ participants and a potent topic, Regenerate educated us on land and human health and inspired us to dive into becoming stewards of the earth, learning and implementing, growing within ourselves as well as with the seeds we choose to sow in our urban spaces - from our back yards to community gardens and beyond! With so many great soundbites of information from Nick Rose, Rachelle Armstrong and Thomas Kennet, the brilliant speakers for the event and experts in their fields, we decided to create a blog post and make the notes accessible to you!
Check out the latest blog post and event notes HERE.
