We welcomed our new cohort of vegetable and livestock apprentices last month. They hit the ground running, with our livestock crew welcoming 40+ new lambs - many right during super storm Stella, and the veggie crew negotiating copious amounts of early spring rain. The lambs, and now kids, keep coming...
Many of the farmer training workshops provided to our apprentices are open to the public, with registration. Some previous knowledge or experience required.
First pick-up of the season is scheduled for May 30. Please note this year's alternate pick-up location has changed to the Manitou School on Route 9D in Cold Spring, where we offer full and half share options for pick-up on Tuesdays from 3:30-6pm.
Glynwood invites you to share our enthusiasm for farmers, aided by the culinary talents of Zak Pelaccio, chef/owner of Fish & Game and 2016 James Beard Foundation Award's Northeast's Chef of the Year.
For this dinner only, Glynwood is offering a subsidized ticket for working farmers, with additional tickets for guests who would like to show their appreciation for the people who grow and raise our food.
Fish & Game was also a James Beard Foundation finalist in 2015 for outstanding restaurant design, and a 2014 semi-finalist for best new restaurant. In 2015, it was named among America's 100 best wine restaurants by Wine Enthusiast magazine. With the food journalist and photographer Peter Barrett, Pelaccio has co-authored a new cookbook, Project 258: Making Dinner at Fish & Game.
Signature Farm Tours take place on the last Saturday of the month, for adults and older children. Family Farm Tours are led during the week by Barbara Sarbin of Something Good in the World. Groups of up to 25 school-aged guests may reserve one of these tours. New this year, we are offering Backyard Family Farm Skills workshops led by Ms. Sarbin, which includes a modified family farm tour.
The final CSA fair of the season is this Saturday, April 15, at the Takk House in Troy, NY, from 11am-2pm. Meet Colfax Farm, Denison Farm, Field Apothecary Laughing Earth Farm, Roxbury Farm, Soul Fire Farm, and others, at this event

On April 23 and April 26, Hudson Valley farmers team up with happy CSA customers to present Local Food 101 presentations in Scarsdale and White Plains. Our friends at Raven & Boar, in East Chatham, NY, are the guests of honor at the Garrison Institute's 8th annual Earth Day Dinner on Thursday, April 20. Using pork from Raven & Boar, local dairy, wheat and all that April brings in the Hudson Valley, Fresh Company will prepare a meal inspired by Ruby’s connection to Italian farming methods.
Glynwood is proud to partner with Food Tank and many more organizations including the James Beard Foundation, GrowNYC, and the NYC Food Policy Center for a fun event on April 26 at the Highline Ballroom called Garjana.
