Fall Bible School Day 2 on Sunday!

All ages are invited to join in the fun and learning in the Orchard this Sunday! We had a blast last week at our first Fall Family Bible School. Kids and adults alike participated and explored the Word, learning about hospitality, hunger in America, and each other! As Sarah taught us, "Is there anything too wonderful for God?" (Genesis 18:14)

Bring your lunch again this Sunday and next Sunday. We will eat a quick meal together right after Worship and then jump into our adventure from 12:30ish to 2:00ish. Please Note ~ Some of our games will involve movement, so please wear safe and appropriate footwear for active games.

October 7, and October 14 after Worship until 2:00ish
October 20 from 3-5pm, Fall Fest included, with bonfire dinner after 5:00

FBS News

At Common Ground, we do a lot of things during Bible School. Two of the big things we highlight are God Sightings and a mission project:

▪ God Sightings ~ Are you watching for God at work? Get ready to share and hang up some apples on Sunday!

▪ The Mission Project ~ Help us help those in our valley who are experiencing food insecurity. We will collect money and non-perishable food items throughout FBS to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. The Food Bank can turn $1 into $11 worth of food! They also appreciate donated food items, with the most requested being cereal, peanut butter, canned veggies, fruits & soups, tuna fish, dry pasta, and macaroni & cheese. OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Coat & Clothing Drive

Ongoing Outreach/Mission Opportunity
Our Coat & Clothing Giveaway is SATURDAY!!! Drop off clothing and outerwear this week, in the barrel in the Great Room or in the storage room by the Cafe.

Please help us spread the word. Let people know we are accepting donations and tell people who might need a little helping hand to come see us on October 13th!

Second Harvest Food Bank

Can't make it to FBS but would still like to help with our mission project? Monetary donations and canned/boxed food items will be accepted through October 20th to help Second Harvest feed hungry local families.
Why are we collecting for the Food Bank this year? Because hunger is a serious problem in our country and our community. Did you know that 50 million Americans struggle to put food on the table? In fact, according to Second Harvest, almost 30,000 children in our area are at risk for hunger--that's 1 in 4 children in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties who may not know where their next meal is coming from. Our donations will make it into the hands of kids and families right here to help them have a little less to worry about!

~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
What can YOU do?
