Exploring Google Drive

Save Brockway Mountain Drive for the fall; let’s take a ride up Google Drive instead! We will explore Google Drive and its integrated programs commonly known as Google Apps. This ride up the Drive will be no sightseeing trip but rather a hands-on adventure through Docs, Spreadsheet, Slides and Forms.

Maximizing Your Time with Google Calendar and Gmail

Most of us can say that we have used Calendar and gmail but can most of us say that we use them well? This session will teach you how to manage email inflow, create and share calendars, integrate gmail into Calendar and how to stay safe while using these tools.

Good teachers know that the classroom, the physical learning environment, must be conducive to learning. That is why they spend time planning, organizing and furnishing their classrooms. This session will teach you how to use some of the Google for Education tools such as Classroom and Sites to create the digital face of your classroom!

Virtual Reality in the Classroom

The terms virtual reality and augmented reality are being discussed frequently these days but what do they actually mean and how do they relate to our K-12 classrooms? This workshop will explore virtual and augmented reality and some of the popular tools to implement these topics in your classroom. We will also debut the new REMC1 Virtual Reality Kit that can be checked out for your classroom for virtual and augmented reality experiences!

Eric Jarvi is born and raised in Hancock, MI. After Graduating in 2000, he moved to Colorado to attend a computer trade school to pursue an Associate’s Degree in IT. In 2002 Eric moved to Davis, CA and managed three Circle K Stores for five years before moving back to Houghton and working for Computer Mechanix as the General Manager and lead technician until April 2017. He had a brief stint as Desktop Support at Houghton County Medical while building a home business for custom computer solutions. Eric recently accepted the position of helpdesk support with REMC1 in March of 2018. He has a passion for computer repair and hardware. He also loves spending time with his wife and kids, and in the backwoods of Skanee. Welcome Eric!
