RIPTA’S WINTER SERVICE CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, 2015

KENNEDY PLAZA SLATED TO REOPEN SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, 2015

RIPTA plans to welcome passengers back to the newly-renovated Kennedy Plaza transit hub on Saturday, January 17. Hot 106FM will be on-site with prizes and give-aways from 8AM – 10AM. LaSalle Bakery will provide hot chocolate and treats to the first 200 passengers. For more information, click here.

RIPTA SCHEDULES 2015 COMMUNITY SITE VISITS FOR BUS PASS PROGRAM FOR SENIORS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Every week, RIPTA’s Photo Identification staff travel to communities throughout the state to provide bus passes to qualified seniors and individuals with disabilities, who are unable to get to our office in downtown Providence. The Photo ID Office, which is open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to Noon and 1 pm to 4 pm, will be closed all day every Friday to provide photo identification “road trip” services around the state. As 2015 begins, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is looking forward to another year of great community partnerships and making worthwhile contributions to the people and places we serve.

Over the past year, RIPTA has been proud to lend support to a wide variety of worthy causes – whether it was filling a bus with teddy bears for Hasboro Children’s Hospital or collecting more than 1,500 pounds of food for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
